Are we thinking that Ward is going to make an appearance in the future now that the reason he’s evil/Hydra, John Garrett, will probably die in the next few episodes? Seems like another reason to bring Brett Dalton back, which the show is always eager to do.
I really like time loop stories and also 4722 Hours is my favourite episode from this show. Sounds like Elizabeth Henstridge is on quite the winning streak on top of the usual excellent performances week in week out each season.
Agent Here we Go Again (as in the LoT ep you failed to mention in best time loop episodes!!!!)
I’ve said previously that the best eps have had Elizabeth Henstridge at their center, and with this ep being her directorial debut, that streak continues. I expected wacky hi-jinks, and we got some of that, but we got so much more. R.I.P. Enoch.
May and YoYo have crazy chemistry
“This is literally my worst nightmare.”
It was nice to see Jiaying before Whitehall. One who appreciates all gifts not only her people’s. It was also great to see her reaction to SHIELD coming wasn’t completely unjustified. That Nathaniel invasion was exactly what she said SHIELD was back in the future. Still, her story still may happen in similar way since…
I liked this episode a lot more than last week’s, but I think these two episodes were the perfect example of the range of episodes Agents of SHIELD can pull off well.
So far the main highlight of this season for me has been the retro outfits and Sousa. I would hope that they can deliver something relatively satisfying with the last 6 episodes (and hope that they can actually continue with some of the characters in the MCU in some capacity).
For real, this show is the only thing of 2020 that’s bringing me any joy.
you bastard. i gave you SO MUCH.
S.H.I.E.L.D. inspired me to watch Chopping Mall years ago and now spends all this time calling back to it? I don't care if this season is entirely cheesy fan service, I am here for it. I just texted my sister out of nowhere to tell her, yes, season Space Rock was awful, but she needs to push through to get to this…
At first I was bummed that they only played a snippet of Don’t You (Forget About Me), and then they came back from the ad break and played the whole dang song. That alone makes this an all-timer for me. Then the battering ram of 80's riffs, and their own version of Fat Thor just put it over the top.
Oh how I loved this episode! And I love this season. Every week is a new homage to a different TV era. This week: The Buddy Cop ComicDrama, with the rag tag team, the slasher film tribute, and the very Marty McFly like band. And Max Headroom, and of course, the Thor parallel with Beer Belly Mack.
But no Koenigs running…
Agent Mack Daddy.
The fact that the promo for the next episode leaked a day early didn’t really help this episode’s levels of interest. It was fine I guess but my tolerance for Deke ain’t high at this point. The drama I’m also kind of wary about because it’s not yet clear if any of the changes to the timeline are gonna stick or not. Als…
I think we’re all pretty much agreed “Self-Control” is the best episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This episode is just below that. The musical cues, the edits, the cheesy one-liners, the even cheesier practical effects, the many, many, many geeky references (Daleks!), I almost couldn’t believe how much awesome they…
The show never shipped Deke with Daisy; only Deke did. Everyone else found the idea ludicrous.
“She’s born in the 80s! She still uses her phone as a phone!”
That extended opening credits, complete with ’70s TV voiceover introductions for each actor, was delightful.
