I know the bit is not anyone’s favorite, but I’d like to give props to the actress who plays Deborah (Debra?) in the credits for managing the exact same line reading on weirder and weirder lines.

I think Darryl most wants Rebecca to acknowledge his baby because, well, she’s his friend. If I was fairly good friends with someone and they kept blanking that I’d recently become a parent to an infant, I’d think it was super weird. The fact that Rebecca was the egg donor makes it even MORE weird, and I completely

The whole “Hector and Valencia hating each other” was so forced, it was distracting.

Loved the stuff with Josh and the underwear modeling and everyone pitching in to help with his photos.

I completely agree. I don’t need unnecessary drama, but from a writing perspective, the lack of conflict on the show is really making it dull.

and so is Whijo (compare him now to the guy on the party bus).

“Hebecca” is still a really stupid name for a baby.

I miss OldGreg’s dry saltiness. NuGreg is too sincere and smooth for my liking.

In fairness, everyone has more chemistry with Fontana.

I think the fact that Rebecca has more chemistry with old Greg than new Greg doesn’t help.

When Settle For Me started playing while Rebecca and Greg kissed I got a little worried but then Nice to Meet You started so I think it’s safe to say we’re not going to find out this relationship is a mistake (again).

During the shame spiral, when Rebecca said she’d made everyone’s life worse, I was reminded that she’s actually made everyone’s life better. There isn’t a single regular character on the show who isn’t in a better place since Rebecca moved to West Covina. Heather and Valencia have careers and partners they love. Paula

Something really worked in this episode, which was presenting the conflict of Nathaniel without going too often to the daddy issues. In the final shot we understand that he is confused as he finds himself actually competing for Rebecca, and he is in a position where suddenly the game does not work at all for him, as

I commented that I didn’t think about Santino at all last week, so I thought I was over the actor change. But it turns out that’s because a lot of Greg’s interaction in the last episode was with Nathaniel, who original-Greg had never interacted with, so it was all new.

I wouldn’t consider myself well versed in romcoms outside of the tropes that emerge as serialized parts of sitcoms. But the way the show has handled Josh, Nathaniel, and Greg feels notable and rare. It does not appear they’re angling for some prolonged love triangle. It felt like either Nathaniel or Gregg could’ve

Paula’s spiel at the beginning was pure gold:

That was agonizing to see him eavesdropping behind the fridge, silently crushed when he’d had a breakthrough earlier in the evening and was the one who brought Rebecca and Darryl to the graduation party.

Well, discovered that Gabrielle Ruiz (Valencia) doesn’t speak Spanish fluently, or at all. She sounded just like a non-speaker memorizing lines phonetically. Sort of like what Giancarlo Esposito did in Breaking Bad and Michael Mando does in Better Call Saul. Except that, Esposito and Mando are better actors and Gus

Yeah Darryl insisting on Rebecca having a relationship with the kid is annoying since you know, she’s not her mom. She just donated the eggs. Of course I’ve never really seen the kid as anything but Darryl being “Lolz I so wacky”.

I didn’t know that Hector and Valencia hating each other was a specific thing beyond none of Josh’s friends liking her.
