If the theory is correct, then he is evil towards Dolores for something we don´t know yet and that´s the whole point.

Yeah, I imagined a whole other life after that were he loses his position in his fiance´s dad company and builds himself up from the ground up just to prove a point.

Also, people knew Arnold. Like people on the board, technitians, workers. They would all know Bernard looks just like Arnold.

If, and I mean IF, we believe the two timelines theory, I can see how that is a good set up for him becoming MIB.
He gets too lost in the game, falls in love for realsies with Dolores, loses his position and fiance, and all for a programed response from a robot. That would make you lose some marbles.

I think he used chill as in cold and impersonal.
