If by "consumer activism thing" you mean "encouraging people to take their business elsewhere if they don't like the companies practices", then this is absolutely a "consumer activism thing". If you don't like companies to charge you more for less of a product, take your dollars to someone that doesn't pull those

It IS Netflix's fault. They doubled their prices without adding any value, lost content due to the Starz deal, and are now removing functionality by disallowing multiple streams. Those are all actions that are bad for their customers, and people should jump ship if they want to put a stop to that kind of nonsense.

This is unfortunate. I wasn't terribly happy with the price hike, and now if they are going to be doing what is essentially another price hike if I want to be able to watch something at the same time as my wife..... anybody have some good alternatives to Netflix (not including piracy)?

While I don't encourage any kind of drug use, I do think marijuana should be legalized (and taxed/regulated similarly to alcohol). There are obvious beneficial uses such as medicinal purposes, and the harm that comes from marijuana does not seem to be any worse than that of alcohol or tobacco.

Copy and paste?

I had a good time with it for a while... it had some cool concepts and let you pretty much run amok. Worth spending a few bucks if you are curious about it, I've seen some good sales on Steam for it.

Yeah, forget any of the details involved! If you reduce the story down to the basest bullet points, they are all the exact same!

I think the intelligent thing to do is to curate what is publicly displayed on your profile (which I've done from the ground up with Google+). If you are going to display anything publicly, you can treat it as a secondary resume, or at least a character reference that you get to set up for yourself. If employers are

And you know that... how?

Adding hats to CS:S? Brilliant!

I'd be curious to hear how you feel about the response that @NoyzMaker provided to the salary question. I like the sound of it, as it expresses your preference to not discuss current salary, a respect for your current employer, and an offer to resolve the issue all in one easy statement.

What do you tell an interviewer when they ask why you left your last job?

It bugs me when people whip out their phone in a middle of a conversation. I will occasionally just stop talking whenever they are looking at their phone, and they usually get the hint. Alternatively you can take out your phone and text them while sitting right next to them, and then when they ask why explain that you

I've been casually looking for alternate places of employment. I've essentially decided that I would like to live in a different area, so my days remaining at my current place of employment are finite and likely less than a year.

The man is not being a jerk, nor is the woman. The man was nice for offering his seat, and the woman was well within her rights to decline (politely, and preferably with a "no, thank you"). The man should just accept that she declined his offer and sit back down. Or stand.

How'd that work out for ya?

Do you consider it acceptable to negotiate prices at a farmer's market? If so, how receptive are the vendors to your offers? Are you ever going to get really good prices without negotiating?

Anyone have a Spotify invite they want to share with me? I would be most appreciative.

You should be able to install any version of windows using the trick from my link below. It worked for me at least. I think that the upgrade product key should work for a fresh install, but I'm not positive. Good luck!

Well played sir.
