@JerryA: Agreed. I loved having Ubuntu on my old laptop (until it finally died), but the whole experience of wrestling with the wifi made it very difficult to recommend to friends and family.

@Archnemesis_Goldenhair: As reliable as your internet connection. I've been told I have better call quality on Skype than on my cell phone, but that is likely due to reception issues. I've had nothing but good luck with Skype.
