That’s not what seattlemaninblue was saying. At all. It’s not about the announcer’s ignorance of a rarely called intentional drop. It is very much about the ignorance of an *very common* infield fly rule which was NOT IN EFFECT b/c there was only a runner on first.

If my sole job was to provide expert commentary on baseball for 162 games a year I would make damn sure I knew and understood the rules so I didn’t embarrass myself. But I guess I take more pride in my job than some people.
