I am a lawyer and haven’t read other articles or the lawsuit, but there will need to be a lot more to show copyright infringement. You cannot copyright the idea of parents replacing a lost child with a doll. (You cannot copyright any “idea” — there has to be much more similarity than just the premise.)

David Ostrom a.k.a. Charlie

Well, arguably, by using her likeness and her story without compensation, it’s a violation of the “right of publicity.”  She could sue!   I believe there are usually exceptions for news reporting, but not for creating a television show.

Two questions: (1) is this the Adam that “dated” Scheana (sp? bc that looks ridiculous)?; (2) does Vanderpump promise to pay her people in “exposure”?

I know all of this. And I don’t care. Those M:I films are so entertaining. Must be the magic of Xenu!

Honest to god, i thought they were the same thing.

Maybe he could write her a $1 million check and she could not cash it.  Because it’s romantic.

Actual Murder as satire! I get it!  Just like all those New Yorker jokes that I definitely understand!

Up until this moment I didn’t make the connection that the word “slaughter” contains the word “laughter.”

I have twins and my husband and I both work full time. It’s so hard and it’s no joke. Kudos to taking leave and staying home with them—wish we could!

Yeah. I’m not sure this article has it right. My opinion is—if taking paternity leave is seen as the norm, it won’t be as shocking/“disruptive” when women take maternity leave.   Of course, I also want to see laws passed to pay for paternity leave, etc.

Yes, I believe so.

As sick as it is, a woman dead may be given more respect that one alive. Mishandling of a corpse / abuse of a corpse cases are taken VERY seriously and often have strict liability on the civil side.

Yes! Thank you! Arrested does not mean committed crimes (as the OP knows and is trying to obfuscate)

Not to mention the terms of the NDA likely being unenforceable, how can there be the legally-required consideration for the agreement?  You presumably already paid for the tickets to get into the show.  How can they bar you from obtaining what you’ve paid for (a seat at the show) and force you to sign a further

Yes. Exactly. Relatedly, I am so irritated about the phrase “press charges.” It is not a victim or individual person who decides to “press charges” against someone (at least here in America).  The prosecutor decides whether to pursue an indictment, and one of the factors in whether they do so is if the victim is

Yes! And let’s celebrate a mom who is prepared!

Happy ending--meaning, happily ever after, which is the key component to a romcom. The two leads end up together in an HEA, which they do not in this movie...

If this were a Hallmark movie, it would have a happy ending, as Romcoms are SUPPOSED to have, as opposed to this bullshit.

I opened this article just to get to to the comments because yes—it was so obvious.
