As a courtesy shuttle driver for my hotel, I know that the guests really like our 2016 U324 Limited. Big and stately with heated and cooled leather seats for the front two rows. I am so fucking sick of the contrarian, safety squad (TM), losers that seem to have infiltrated this site over the last 3 years. IM ON A CAR BLOG TALKING ABOUT CARS BUT GASOLINE IS BAD BECAUSE CARS ARE BAD (or something?) SO I HOPE THE PRICE GOES UP FOR NO REASON.

One vehicle I have is a ‘17 Silverado with a 5.3. Real world mix of highway and city driving I average 20mpg, 18mpg below 10°F. Honda Ridgeline or Odyssey, with 80 less horsepower, the same driving would get 21-22mpg.

So much this. My Expedition burns a ton of gas, but it’s the perfect vehicle for my family’s needs, and it’s payed for. $500+ a month truck payments on a newer, more efficient one buys A LOT of gas for both the Expedition and the boat.

As embarrassing as it is to say this, the current Navigator/Expedition/Tahoe/Suburban crop out-MPG my 4Runner on the highway by 5+ MPG and basically match the observed MPGs in my Volvo. And I drive like a, well, old man.

I rented an Expedition EL while in Florida last year. Averaged 20 MPG the whole week, mixture of highway and side roads. So not too bad all things considered.
