Ford and Navistar had a falling out after the 6.4L engine.. that’s what drove Ford to develop the 6.7 Scorpion.

Agreed. Here at Jalopnik we are all about unpractical/cool cars, and yet, all we do is criticize people for buying vehicles that they don’t need.
I took advantage of the lower SUV prices and bought a used Expedition for my business. The thing is awesome, both rear rows fold down when I need to haul supplies and junk, and then fold up and I can haul 7 passengers along with me. The fuel econ isn’t great (around 16) but with the 4wd, and versatility, it’s one of…
I agree. The prices dropped a bit, but you’d never see a 3 year old SUV for 5 grand unless it had over 300k miles on it.
It’s pretty damn normal here in Colorado. Whether you’re going road racing, biking, drifting, snowboarding or whatever.
During my time living in the Monroe area, I seemed to notice that people seemed to care a lot less about burnouts, drifting and street racing than they do here in Colorado. Out there, i’d do a burnout, and they’d come up asking if it’s a 5.0 or not. In Colorado, you do a burnout and they have already called the cops…
Detroit is calling your name..
I’ve had people run diesels in the shop with the doors closed because “it was safe”..it may be, but it’s not a chance I’m willing to take.
I’m not sure, I’ve heard from many owners that when it goes into Regen, the fuel economy takes a large dive.
How much did that thing cost? I can imagine it being worth it’s weight in gold in the rust belt.
Well he bought it for 14k, then blew up the trans, and sent it to liberty’s gears, and they went through it, so there was another 3,500, and then the built rear end and so on... I just love V8 RWD cars no matter what they are lol
Me too, but that’s okay, he already has almost 20k into the car, and it’s a rattly, piece of shit. I’ll keep my slow, 210,000 mile mustang, thank you very much. My shit rattles less than his camaro, which has less than 100k on it.
I have a 97 GT and it was slow stock, but I did a PI Swap (99+ 2 valve Heads and intake), gears and bolt on’s and it ran high 12’s in Michigan, but was only barely faster than my friends bolt on, geared and full exhaust SS Camaro. I think I have about 5 grand into the car total, and built the engine for around 1,400.
How come all the guys with these things pull the LS’s out and put em in a foxbody?
Yes! They took the best part of a GM product and got rid of rest of the junk. GM guys are great at finding better platforms to put their engines in. The fox chassis comes to mind.
This and the rebodied Superduty were both at SEMA this year. Very interesting vehicles. We decided it had to be someone with oil money wanting to make custom trucks. Cool ideas, but not very complete. The Supeduty truck was 200k, and had a V10. The custom stitching and embossing on the the door panel was nice, but the…
I remember sitting in those seats checking out christmas lights in for many years in the back of my grandma’s Taurus Wagon
Haven’t seen that video since highschool. Thanks for posting. Edit: Wow this story is old as hell.
Thank you! I’ve been looking for a long term solution for my customers. I currently have a 1 year warranty and they last past that, but i’m not sure 3 or 4 years down the road.
