Yup,the insurance thing is a pain even for a legally imported vehicle. USAA and Hagertys, that was it. Hagertys cannot be your only car or daily and USAA will not do a stated value policy, so its liability only. Everyone else told me to go take a hike.

Japanese classics is probably the best importer in the US. But their cars are also priced as such.

I am amazed the amount of people that have clearly illegal vehicles registered there (R34's, S15's, etc) and they truly dont care about the consequences. How do they insure them? Haggerty asked for all the import paperwork on mine to make sure it was legally imported.

Florida is all kinds fo sketchy when you are talking DMV and imports. My JDM Galant VR4 was imported through an importer in Orlando...I triple checked to make sure all the relevant import documents were included (Customs release, EPA paperwork, etc)

Dont even need to pull the engine to do any of those things. But they are still expensive repairs. I would budget in IMS, clutch, flywheel, water pump, belts, AOSS and plugs, probably about $4k in work.

Yup, driven sensibly a small car does quite well on snow. I drove a 1983 Porsche 944 with all seasons for an entire winter in the Colorado mountains when I was working at a ski resor. Threw bunch of bags of kitty litter in the back and it was awesome.

I understand this article is satire, however: I used to drive a lifted Titan with huge tires that stuck out past the fenders, I loved it at the time (until I had to go to the mall or something). Trucks never bothered me. Then I moved to the U.K. They dont drive pickups over there. You MIGHT see the occasional Hilux,

2 happiest days of my life: The day I bought my E46 M3 and the day I sold it. let me explain: There are just too many failure modes on these. The engine on mine had been replaced due to a catastrophic VANOS failure. You also have the rear subframe ripping from the unibody, that’s a fun one. The M3 “clunk” is also a

Must be a PD110 then. The taxi cab of choice throughout Europe. I had a 2007 Fabia VRs with the PD130 motor, that thing was sweet. I was dumb for getting rid of it. Only issues with those motors are timing belt intervals need to be followed and EGR needs to be cleaned out regularly. No adblue, no DPF, nothing, just a

Haha, you mentioned the 300zxTT...2 weeks ago I was about 2 seconds away from pulling the trigger on a nice, stock 100k mile 91. But it was due a timing belt service and the overall prospect of using it as a daily scared me...common sense took over.

I was waiting for somebody to say this lol. This is probably the most stolen Honda product ever if you look at the ratio of thefts compared to cars produced.

I would also love an FD, until I start thinking I am paying 15k+ for a car that is basically made of glass it seems like lol.

We had a BLS whatever trim when we were living in England, twin turbo V6 with Saab interior (that they barely even tried to hide). Damn thing was quick and drove pretty good.

I am almost certain Ford quoted 225 from ‘87 to ‘93. I know my ‘93 GT was definately quoted at 225.

And when you take into account dyno variations, weather, etc its probably actually pretty close to factory flywheel power. Not too bad.

Does not matter who owns the car, its most likely headed straight to the crusher as soon as the Feds catch wind. I cannot believe the amount of illegally imported vehicles registered in Florida lol.

Not much sounds better than an H22 in VTEC with a intake. I had a ‘99 Accord type R (when I was living in the UK) with the same fundamental engine and it sounded glourious.

lol, that transmission was not one of Honda’s greatest engineering triumphs. They normally needed a rebuild before 100k miles.

They were expensive as hell in the late 90's, thats what killed them.

So glad I did not buy one 2 months ago when I was looking. Good looking car and it drove great, but the dealer would not budge on the price lol. So I bought a 2018 STI instead.
