My friend's dad bought a Flex with the Ecoboost and AWD. His is loaded with everything, including a refrigerated console between the second row of seats. We piled 7 of us in it to go to a concert and it still got after it. Great car, good looking too.

The engine in the 2000 Cobra R is 5.4, essentially a tall deck 4.6. The Cobra R is a 4v DOHC and the Lightning is a 2v SOHC. But both engines use the same iron block and forged steel crank. The Cobra R got a set of Carillo connecting rods from Ford. So, yes they have differences, but they share the same foundation.

I couldn't find a picture of what i pictured... How about a 2000 Ford Lightning towing a 2000 Cobra R? 5.4 power!

That was a qualified statement, well appointed for its price point and era. Yes a luxury car will be better appointed.

Wrong again, they are beautiful cars, with a well appointed interior for its time period and price point in the market, and they are incredibly fun to drive in any circumstance.

I wonder if that winch is PTO?

no that beater met its end long long ago thanks to a broken connecting rod! yay! And my friend's dad was as far from cool as you can get. A nerd in every way. The coolest thing he owned was a 53 Ford.

all beaters require some form of maintenance sooner or later, don't kid yourself.

I don't know, lots of assholes abuse and don't maintain the fox so eventually something breaks. Fortunately it is usually something minor, like brake pads wearing out from rapidly stopping after blowing the doors off a redneck's IROC Camaro.

this is a sub frame connector

nope, I was, cause I was in Jr. high and creeping on Jr. high girls while in Jr. high isn't creepin' it is normal. They new getting a ride to school in your dad's mustang is still cooler than getting a ride in a crappy diesel benz.

Love and respect the W123 all you want, the winner should have been the fox. It has to be the greatest car you can pick up for $2000 or less. Plus it is available in coupe, convertible and hatch. And you're right, the Fox ain't a bad car, it is a great one.

I thought the douchebag stereotype went hand it hand with motocross riders. Sick bike bro, you go ill today?

Proud it made it to the final, disappointed the greatness of the Fox didn't win a landslide victory for the common man.

Why because I played by the rules and charged appropriate prices for fixing car? Or because I prefer the Ford everyone can afford over the Mercedes. Maybe I'm just in a Cunty mood because quite possibly the greatest car of the 80s met it's demise to an overstuffed Euro-luxo-barge.

You spelled "Best State Ever" worng.

Right, and girl I worked with right out of high school had a 300,000 mile Mustang GT, auto (AOD was notoriously crappy), that looked good, ran strong and only had the water pump and alternator replaced in its lifetime. Mustang also bulletproof.

Well, I'm in California. We have shit tons of Euro trash here and they are all expensive to fix. I know this, I was a service writer for years. I loved it when a tired Euro shit heap came in, it was time to make a fat commission on over priced parts and twice the labor cost as your average vehicle.

$100 subframe connectors. Problem solved. Next!!!!

I don't suck at driving so i'm not crashing my fox....
