Goodyear’s negligence has killed people, and Jalopnik should report on every single aspect of this until they’re properly held to account for their actions.

Thank you for keeping this in the news. As the owner of a motorhome of similar size the thought of having a blowout at that speed is terrifying. Companies need to understand that their actions have consequences beyond the end of the quarter of fiscal year.
Kudos to Jalopnik writers.
This is why we need to have 1) corporate death penalties and 2) company officials going to jail for this type of behavior. But of course that won’t happen in the US because the corporation pay to make the rules.
This is the only time I’ve ever agreed with using Applebee’s and Self Respect in the same sentence.
The tire explosion is Goodyear’s fault. If they hadn’t been unscrupulous, this would not have happened.
It’s not beating a dead horse, it’s investigative journalism. When more details of something arise, or you learn of another incident involving a potentially horribly defective product, you write and you inform so that more of the public becomes aware.
Fuck Goodyear.
Trump is fulfilling his campaign promise.
His base. AKA people too stupid to realize this is a bad idea.
“Elon Musk has been sleeping on the factory floor“
US Chamber of Commerce did a graph showing which states would be hurt the worst by these tariffs. The 5 who will take the biggest hit all voted Trump.
Who in the hell does Trump think he’s doing this for? The automakers? They’re all saying they hate the idea. LITERALLY EVERYONE does not like this. It’s going to hurt American auto plants. This does not make any sense at all. He’s fucking with the entire car industry, and everyone hates it. It’ll lead to more…
I wish people wouldnt lay around the terminal like a bunch of refugees. Have some self respect and go to Applebees and get drunk.
I would like to think most of the tariff talk is just sabre rattling, but I do think Trump would go through with it in order to not “look weak”. The bad thing is regardless of what negative effects it may have with possible lost jobs or higher cost of goods, his constituents will stick with him and continue to support…
These things are just suffering at the hand of our disposable, single use culture. If you personally owned one you’d jump less curbs, you’d care more how you parked it, etc.
Americans, well we ‘share’ just so long as we get ours. After that, well you know, uhh... just let the market decide ;)
Says who? 2017 numbers still widely favored docked bikes. They were almost 50-50 on number of bikes but docked bikes had 96% of rides. I bet that changes with time but this article says that docked companies haven’t seen a negative hit. (https://www.curbed.com/2018/5/30/17390264/bike-sharing-dockless-bicycles-cities).

Multiple on each block? As in you want a docking station every 100-200 feet because you can’t be bothered to walk further than that?
For whatever reason, the scooters are the ultimate embodiment of how the “sharing economy” is treated as a license to ignore the rules and call it “disruption.” The rental company happily privatizes public space with the sole goal being market share. Many of the end users (not just a “few”) seem content to discard…
