Came to say the exact same thing. The audacity of he/she to say the players don’t understand their own lived experiences! But they, an obvious white person, do. Their sense of entitlement and superiority knows no limits.

This kinda shit does more harm than they realize.
Thank you so much for this.
THIS.
Amen.
I don’t watch much TV, nor do I keep up with pop culture. I learned years ago not to partake in things that don’t nourish me. I rarely see myself represented, much less represented positively, in any media form. Even media created by people who look like me. I’m happy to read the examples mentioned that show dark…
A wonderful not so recent example would be Kyle and Max on Living Single. Two unambiguously Black people loving each other was a breath of fresh air for television. The show did a pretty good job of showing the physical diversity of Black folks.
This.
Even if you put aside that these were CHILDREN, the police had no reason to shoot at all. The children were running away from them (so no threat), and all they’d observed was a possible traffic violation. There’s nothing to indicate the car’s occupants had done anything life threatening to anyone.
Not only is he still being racist, but the press isn’t calling it out.
I’ll tell you what’s happening:
Fitting, isn't it?
So...
If they do actually have PTSD, it’s most likely the result of silently watching their colleagues murder people.
I’ve been thinking the same way lately. This kinda shit keeps happening in part because we don’t do anything when it happens. They use our fear to their advantage. They’re empowered (in part) by our fear.
