It depends what your job is.

Yeah, because that’s what I said.  If the ADL went away, life would not change.

Fine. He gets paid to do it in a job that provides no real economic value or output for the nation.  Same difference.  No value in the ADL, no value in twitter points.

Baaahahahahaa. I hope to god my ridiculous thoughts from the California wrap license plate thread got you down the rabbit hole of this.

It’s just words. It’s not the international scout you knew. I’d suggest reconciling with that instead of being disappointed over semantics. No sense in being disappointed that an arrangement of letter don’t meet your desires.

Umm, whaa? Hearsay is a legal term. The way the legal system uses it is, by definition, the factual way to use it.

It fucking hilarious how wrong you are on all counts. If you only knew who you were talking and weren’t making assumptions on hearsay, you’d laugh too. That is if you have the balls to recognize you were wrong and can admit as such without crawling up your dead mothers vagina in embarrassment.

I know. IDK why I put myself through this. Amazing how many (and I hate this term but I am going to use it anyways) people are just sheeps that go along with the status quo because they watched judge judy when they were 10 years old.

That’s the current state.  My question/argument, is SHOULD it?  There’s a lot to go wrong in using hearsay to establish probable cause, and the folks doing so aren’t exactly trustworthy.

I hate that fleeting glimpses are ever considered as evidence unless that suspect has some more unique characteristic - eg. the Charles Manson swastika scar on the forehead. Not a lot of people with that.

But good thing they had a license plate!  /s

That’s the arbitrary legal definition which I am purposely not adhering to because it is a. arbitrary b. used against regular people and c. is used all the fucking time to convict innocent people.

There in lies the ridiculous and arbitrary measures taken to control the population for the benefit of a few. Which is precisely my point.

Well, you guessed wrong.  Those are practical and enforceable means of order.

My argument is larger than just privacy relating to license plates. My argument is also dipping into the very foundation of “evidence” used to investigate, arrest, try, and convict people.

As an anecdotal example, I live in Houston, where we have had a big problem with fake paper plates.

But a licence plate doesn’t identify you to the vehicle unless you have access to the database that information is kept.

Ding ding. Someone with a brain is here! and they like to eat.

No. That’s hearsay, not probable cause, whether you’re running a plate or not.

So? That’s just bull shit written by the same people that want plates. I’m not arguing what they said, I’m arguing the logic and validity of what they say.
