The company I work for doesn't give raises. Many others in the retail field don't either. Why not? They don't have to. There are still people lining up for jobs. Sucks, doesn't it?

It's why I read it. It gave me the giggles, and in my world, giggles are necessary.

I truly hope you're under the influence at the moment, and not working with your everyday brain. If this is your normal level of empathy, I feel very sorry for you.

I am saddened by your lack of empathy. I am happy for you that you've never dealt with depression or suicidal impulses, though. Lucky you! Hope the rest of your life goes so swimmingly.

OK, I probably have the emotional eating thing. But I'm dealing with depression, and I don't have much in the way of any emotions by late night. Then, and only then, a sugary snack makes me feel so damn happy. The resulting waistline bothers me, but not as much as it should.

I used to get it a lot, but middle age has given me a "back off" vibe. It's rude, flat out. My go to response is still a shrug, and 'who knows?" Then I change the subject.

There's some space between the "I can't afford it", and "My accountant...". I like,"That's not were the money's going this month" or, "Not high enough on the priority list." I had to put a stop to the guilt spending.

Do either of them look upset? Honestly, I would rather fall on the side of non-contact because it's too intimate than the glad-handing and overly familiar touching I have to put up with.

That's the Perfect O Of OCD. I bounce between this and depression (the kind where you are pretty much numb to everyting) and I'll take the depression any day.

I'm with you. Sadly, I've had to make a few tough decisions about life and death care, and the nurses were the ones that gave me the cold honest truth about outcomes and quality of life. I have to agree that the pantsuit has become the official uniform of the female politician, but Pelosi's is so beautifully cut and fitted, I can't pick at her. Besides-wear a pantsuit, and you can sit anywhere, get out of any car, without a crotch shot to haunt you in the future.
