Did they handle it appropriately by refusing to let the hospital test their baby’s blood until CPS got involved?

Yeah that’s and good point. In any case, I suppose the burden is on The Daily Show to write a tweet that wouldn’t be widely misunderstood in the first place (especially since, you know, their job is to write jokes).

Hm, yeah I guess there is need for more transparency/regulation. I wasn’t aware there were for-profit companies involved, although I did know the blood was typically sold for a fee. It’s not free to collect, store, test, and ship it, you know.

I thought it was the opposite- making fun of anti-choice people who think the point of abortion is so slutty sluts can have sex w/out getting pregnant. But your interpretation makes sense to me as well.

I feel you. I have to have my blood tested for medical reasons pretty regularly and I always (1) request an experienced person (not someone fresh out of school) and (2) tell them they get 3 pokes and NO wiggling the goddamn needle around and then I’m outta there. Probably makes me sound whiny and bitchy but I’ve

Huh?

I’m a tiny, fainty lady and I’ve had a lot of bad experiences. Tip: don’t let some 22-year-old stab a needle into your arm. Tell them you have tiny veins, a phobia, WHATEVER and you will wait until the real pro is available. They all know who she is.

This seems like the best place to out myself as a weirdo with a 914 obsession. I mean I’d take a 911 if it was presented to me . . .

“When you’re old you just need enough money to live comfortably as you wait to die.”

Do they not have marginal tax brackets in Canada?

Yeah I mean who cares about national leadership or the SCOTUS when we can base on our votes on REALLY important stuff like anecdotal interactions with candidates’ ostensible supporters!

Man you are confused.

I think people misunderstood your comment to read that you’re a Bernie supporter who will vote for Stein.

Most people were surprised by the Brexit b/c the polls showed it would not happen. Please do not get complacent when the stakes are so high for so many people.

Okay, thanks. I know I should have just googled it but at some point I get so down about these stories that I can’t bring myself to read anymore about them. Criminal negligence seemed like such an obvious charge to me b/c, even if the defense is correct in stating that he moved, he should not have been ABLE to move

Wow thanks for the 1L lesson in intent! Did you copy and paste that from your criminal law nutshell book?

Hm. I don’t claim to be an expert on this case, but articles I’ve read definitely suggest (or outright state) that the ride was rough. Do you know how the defense claims he was injured then?

Do you mean what happens in the few seconds between that happening and the robot inserting a control chip into your brain/disembowling you/hooking you up to a tube to harvest your BTUs?

You seem to have a great sense of humor.

Seriously. I got a little nervous reading the first bit b/c I sometimes look at my phone in bed w/ just one eye (b/c I’m blind as a bat and can’t focus w/ both eyes without my contacts or glasses). Now I’m not nervous I’m just sad that people are this stupid.
