I grew up in a small town in central Michigan pre-internet times. When I was 16 I read The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. The themes were not different from stuff I’d heard growing up (about “those” people and how they were lazy and living off the government) so I ate that shit UP. For a couple of years anyway. I’m

Am I an educated woman? B/c republicans have not been fiscally responsible since at least W.

I’m a straight woman and Margot Robbie is on my list.

Your wife has . . . eclectic tastes.

Neville turned out pretty good looking by the end of the movies . . .

Yeah this article was very strange to me. “Do people who play M.A.S.H. as kids really have to live in a mansion and have 19 babies with Luke Perry?”

Seriously no one who has ever been in the same room as the man would think it was a weird pick. Dude just had/has IT.

I’m so confused. Is the author a 13-year-old boy? Does he live in the woods in the year 1995? Tevas are not appropriate shoes for adults in any situation outside of camping/hiking activities.

Yeah it’s insane not to do this. I didn’t invite all of my favorite people in the world to a party so I could spend the first 2 hours of the party standing outside taking pictures.

Hahaha. I have some experience in marketing law so I know “talent” is just an industry term (and not an admission that the person is actually talented) but this still made me roll my eyes. Talent my ass.

I get your comment about it being confusing since it goes against “tradition.” But why would it be empowering for you and not your wife? Maybe I’m reading too much into it. I’m reading “it’s empowering for a man and not for a woman” which is obviously not your call (or mine) to make.

For me, a lot of really hot peppers taste so good, it’s worth any discomfort later. Kind of like a hangover can be totally worth a great night.

A friend of mine in college was a pale redheaded married to a Mexican man. It ALWAYS threw professors off the first day. She used to joke that she got a scholarship b/c they thought she was Latina.

I feel ya. I took my husband’s name for that reason (although my maiden name is German). I always hated those forms you filled out with your name when there was one box for each letter . . . my maiden name never fit.

As a different perspective, when I was going through the process of changing my name it made me feel irritated and impatient- not closer to my husband.

Do you think it would have been empowering for your wife if you had taken her last name?

I also took my husband’s last name b/c my maiden name is German and crazy long. It was a minor annoyance my entire life. But DAMN, yes, changing your name is a pain in the ass. I still have a couple of things in my maiden name b/c I just gave up after awhile.

I honestly think it shows a man’s love to his woman by taking her last name.

Yes, he will forever be considered a gigantic vagina by idiots like you.

Good to know.
