I think it’s a smart idea. There’s nothing saying the car you try out has to be the one you buy, since it’s a very short term commitment. The could have testers on hand for people to try before they commit to a purchase, where they can pick color and trim level.

Those that scoffed at Sergio Marchionne, when he stated that FCA was no longer going to offer cheap and simple sedans like the Dodge Dart or Chrysler 200, are the same ones that panned those vehicles.

I’m not sure paying a lease payment monthly (plus a down payment), none of which you’ll get back, is a better financial decision than buying an already depreciated car that you will be able to sell for about the same as you paid for it.

He was probably distracted by a slideshow

Whenever I see a fastback-looking sedan and examine the seams only to find a trunk, I die a little more inside.

These articles are probably written by AI, to be honest.

Never play a slot machine that just paid out.

To your point about paying for the halftime show, he’s already an immensely popular and successful artist, so I don’t really think the purpose was to get his name out there. Probably more just to get some unique publicity for his newest album and maybe an upcoming tour or something.

My funniest tidbit about the Weeknd is that his first big hit “I Can’t Feel My Face” (the title alone being a reference to heavy cocaine use) was nominated for Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice award for song of the year. Good times.

You want the author to essentially steal the work of a youtuber who relies upon views for their income?

If you’re nerdy enough it’s well worth the time for this video. His are all fairly long and rather involved but interesting when he compares things on his whiteboard with so much detail and math.

The Drive is a little dry, but I have yet to see any Buzzfeed-esque, overly clickbaity headlines with shit like “such n such will break your brain”. I’ve been on here a long time, but it seems it’s starting to fall apart and that sucks. It’s been one of my favorites for YEARS

Never forget what 60 Minutes did to Audi with bullshit hacked transmission unintended acceleration.

Well, it probably won’t be designed to fail in 10 years, the bumper won’t fall off in the rain, it won’t have wipers that require you to navigate a touchscreen interface, the roof won’t fly away on your drive home from the dealer, and VW probably won’t downgrade it to a lower trim level if you sell it to someone else.

You know how if you live in a city, you stop hearing the sirens, or if you live by a train yard, you stop hearing the trains? You think people who live by this thing just don’t react to the sound of accidents anymore?

Just make everyone click through 5-10 adds to read anything?

So you redesigned the entire website to push add traffic as much as possible. You missed an opportunity. You are only giving adds 50% of the space on the site. Why not bury every story behind an add? Just make everyone click through 5-10 adds to read anything? That would really improve the experience.

I’m still trying to find the step forward in this one.

Kinja Updates, 1 step forward and 5 steps back. At least it’s consistent?

I just want to say this is way worse/less intuitive than the old system.
