I feel the editor is the most important person when it comes to length and pacing.  Director has imput but this isn't a one man show.

The main thing about long movies is whether or not everything is actually necessary.  Most of the time, there’s lesser and/or unnecessary material that can be cut in a movie that’s over 3 hours long.

I was riveted by every minute of The Irishman. Yet I think GotG 3 could have trimmed its 2 hours and a half. Drive My Car probably needed it’s 3 hours. But did Avatar: The Way of Water? Runtimes aren’t a one-size-fits-all, ‘let every director do whatever they want!’ kind of answer to me. Because that can lead to a

Actually, that’s sort of how it works in real life. People are randomly queer and non-white ‘out of nowhereall around you. They don’t have an interesting backstory about their queerness or skin color for your entertainment/justification.

Every day in every way my decision to quit twitter and delete my account gets more satisfying.

Because you can make 10's of millions as a CEO even if you run the company to the ground.  See Marissa Mayer of Yahoo.

If your accident was being investigated by a Federal agency and you destroyed the evidence, then yes, you’d be in trouble. Car crashes and plane crashes are completely different things.

They know how to jingle the keys and redirect him so he doesn’t have public tantrums that spoil the brand. If Twitter had proper Musk-minders, they probably would have retained enough core folks to build him a fake Twitter complete with hired villains to dunk on.

I get it texturally, and it probably works in the taste department, it just sounds revolting.  Like Mac&Cheese ice cream, which was apparently pretty good?

Yeah, I remember the theatrical experience being a little sketchy, but nothing we couldn’t smother with a pillow to get to our appreciation of the bitchin’ action. I do not think we could smother it if we had the scene with Portman doing a Marilyn Monroe.

Since the official response to constant and repeated mass shootings has been “lol i dunno, i guess try to run away” instead of literally anything useful?

There’s a huge market for pop-punk right now but, ironically, Sum 41 hasn’t been purely “pop punk” in well over a decade. They can still shred though. I’ll have to catch the farewell tour!

What made you decide to go with “Grimes opines” instead of “Grimes gripes”?

As a rule, I don’t trust the judgement of anyone who’s wanted to fuck Elon Musk, whether that’s Grimes, or people paying him 8 bucks.

Here use of the phrase “canceled very often” on its own conveys an almost comical lack of awareness, while “always exceptionally canceled” is just incoherent.

If (and it’s an if) “cancelling” really means anything, it definitely does not mean “experiencing any criticism at all”, which is how she seems to be using the word (and she’s not alone in this regard).

I’m all for approaching most people in good faith, but if approaching everyone in good faith leaves even the slightest chance of being inseminated by Elon Musk, I think I’ll go on being a bit discriminatory.

Gorgeous women just love it when you ignore everything they say and focus on their looks.

Well, 99.99% of us don’t have to answer “How does this align with your viewpoint?” when we go to work.
For most of us the answer is “I come in and do (something) for X hours and I get Y money, which I really don’t feel is enough, in exchange for it.”
