Rough Collies and Border Collies are separate breeds. There are several breeds of collies among the herding breeds and each has distinct traits. They originated in Scotland and were then bred for specific jobs in specific regions.

In addition to this definitely not being a border collie, “rough collie” is literally the name of the breed, despite AV Club trying to squeeze in a snarky dig at the guy for calling it by it’s real name.

I guess AV Club’s posts don’t require a 5 second google search of dog breeds.
