You went out of your way to provide additional information to someone, yes. The “spam” to which you are referring is mostly people providing additional information to what you provided. People respond and reply to comments in the comments section. Its what its there for.

WTF? That is absolutely NOT common to have your system get that dirty. I opened my PS3 last year, since the fan died. There was some dust inside, but it wasn’t really that bad.
