There’s already a small chorus echoing the same sentiment, but I’ll join in: boy do I wish Spirits had a description or like a paragraph of flavor text about their origin, they way trophies in previous games did. I enjoyed learning a bit about gaming history when I got Smash trophies, but with Spirits...it’s more like

I would be 100% OK with replacing trophies with Spirits if they just had a little paragraph of flavor text, especially since you’re not gonna get a lot of the references unless you’re knowledgeable of the series in question.

Tell the fella who called me out on Twitter the other day for calling this an “ode to EarthBound.”

You know, you’ve got your Souls-like, your Rogue-like, your Metroidvanias...we need Earthbound-inspired to become it’s own subgenre of RPG! That’s such a specific niche of RPG that rarely gets done right, and I’m always looking to play one.

What a great premiere! This is the most optimistic I’ve felt after a season premiere of Drag Race in a long time. The most important factor in whether a season is good or not is the casting of the queens. And if the next group is as strong as the first seven it’s going to be the most promising group since idk Season

The past-tense dialogue summaries might actually kill this game for me. They feel kinda like the sorts of line summaries you’d choose between in a game with a voiced protagonist, so the fact that they’re all you get is... Really disconcerting to me, particularly when combined with the more cinematic shot-reverse-shot

Even more importantly, something that even a lot of GMs fail at is that failing a check doesn’t have to be a completely bad thing.

I’ve seen quite a few complaints on the reveal that it’s not just BG1+2 with better graphics, but honestly, I don’t think it should be. Real-time with pause is a combat system that works well with something like the 2nd Ed ruleset, where most low-to-mid-level combat turns are “I attack” and only once in a while did

It’ll be interesting to see how many ways failure gets interpreted. It’s always been one of the core problems with RNG-linked versions of tabletop.

Regardless of whatever anyone’s personal thoughts on this controversy, it takes a pretty big man to be forced to look at one of his iconic roles and peacefully recognize that, hey, maybe I should try to see how this might have upset people.

Chip (or Chad when Chip’s “on vay-cay”) will still be acting as Apu at the water cooler on four, at least until HR gives him another verbal warning.

but that he eventually came around to understanding the various critiques, especially when he framed it through his own Jewish identity. “[I]f that character were the only representation of Jewish people in American culture for 20 years, which was the case with Apu, I might not love that,” he said.

This might be the most weeb portfolio I’ve ever seen on Fine Art. A few observations:

There is NO WAY the original search was:”Lee Pace and his cock” followed by the reaction:”what’s with the chickens?”

Screw the farm, I want to know that he is devoting every waking moment to getting Pushing Daisies rebooted.

I’m going to dig into this development, stay tuned

Nobody:

You’re not wrong about 4 being better than 3. New Vegas is better than both of them though.

I haven’t played since Sims 2, but I think it was mod the game to have a bunch of X-Men skins, then put a bunch of X-Men into a house to starve to death, then finally moved a Professor X into the same house, now revamped and comfortable, so he could be haunted by the waking ghosts of the children he’d failed.
