Or Katie Perry lets her use it free of charge.

What does the audience matter? It's either funny or it isn't. The audience could've been laughing their asses off last night and it wouldn't have affected my opinion at all. Jost should be mad at himself for the lame joke that wasn't funny (in an otherwise great Weekend Update). There is a reason the audience isn't

Maybe an SNL historian can comment on this, but how rare is it for the host to appear in the cold open?

I saw the goodnights on the west coast.

It doesn't take lawyers, accountants, PR people, focus groups to figure out that you're the only fucking one who charges more for the first episode. All it takes is a brain really, or the willingness to do some research.

It just seemed like they hammered in the Seinfeld stuff just cause, for nostalgia or whatever and it sort of took the air out of an otherwise funny cold open.

The cold open was great until they mixed in the Seinfeld stuff which was unnecessary and kind of ruined it.

Customers don't care about that.

Dude…even Game of Thrones season 5 is $24.99. I listened to his Howard interview and don't think he was complaining overall, but seemed to be a little melodramatic about being in debt.

Oh I give him credit for trying. But I fault him for putting no thought in how to sell it. It seems almost like he thought, "fuck it, it's awesome, it doesn't matter what I do people will buy it." C'mon charging more for the first episode? And $31 for all the episodes? That's LOL.

I like Louis CK as a comic, but boy is he arrogant. Did he even research how other shows are priced on Amazon or any other service? It seems like he picked a number off the top of his head without looking into anything and just rolled with it. Why did he charge more for the first episode? Usually it's the opposite.

Can't believe the responses in this thread. Winter is a fantastic writer who wrote a ton of Sopranos episodes and also was the show runner for the brilliant Boardwalk Empire. I personally love Vinyl. This is really bad news for fans of the show as well as fans of HBO. Disturbing news that they'd have creative

Brilliant.

He looks sick, like he has cancer.

Another pretty bad stinker. Only positives for me were the cold open, Weekend Update, Pogie Pepperoni's, and part of the Survivor sketch.

If true, that makes no sense. While some of the aspects of the show like the cold open or weekend update are topical, pretty much every other aspect of the show doesn't have to be. As long as you know who is hosting, you can start writing well in advance.

She was brought on in 2014.

Oh? Where do you know them from?

Gwen Stefani almost started singing during Space Pants at the wrong cue as well.

Those are pretty obscure jokes though, honestly I wouldn't have noticed what the parody was.
