weeping.

@TheSpiller: you say that like it's a bad thing.

@Hanke: thank you. i keep trying to tell people what a scam e85 is. people think that because it's a biofuel it has to be better, but it's not. as steven colbert so aptly puts it:

@CandaceGalute: build your own laptop? forget about it. you couldn't build one (as far as i know) for what you could buy a low end laptop (including the eee pc) for, not to mention the extreme hassle of doing it. i've repaired laptops. trust me.

@TendoMentis: i am very familar with virtualization. we use it, and will be using it more. the problem is not on the server end, it's the desktop. where i work, they use SAP stuff a lot (don't get me started). some of that stuff *will not run* under vista and upgrades from SAP have so far not been forthcoming. also,

@englishman: you realize that sbc is owned by starbucks, right? that said, at least they didn't screw with sbc's coffee as far as i can tell.

@TendoMentis: that's all fine and well for an end user. in an enterprise/academic environment where there are important apps that break under vista and web apps that break under ie7, it's not a luddite mentality, it's keeping shit working so people can do what they need to do.

@ficcionista: i always built my own machines in the past, but since i rarely game on a pc anymore (and have mostly switched to mac in general) it's just not time or cost effective for me to roll my own anymore. and yeah, it's a moot point if you're talking about laptops.

@marlblank: you are absolutely correct. but, ya know, people love to bitch.

all the sysinternals stuff is awesome. i dont know how much i'll use the live stuff, but i always have it with me on a flash drive.

i, for one, welcome our new pr overlords. i think some people think you're going to be forced to use home for whatever. you aren't it's optional. don't like it? don't use it.

@hk458: about the same time that people learn that "pple" is not "hip" or "cool".

if it's half as good as the first one was i will be a happy boy.

@m8ns: you do realize that directx 10 (and in fact direct x at all) is a windows thing, right? so no, the ps3 cannot "handle dx10", since it doesn't use direct x at all.

fable. raiden project (yeah, i went there). burnout paradise. dead rising. driver, although it provided hours of just messing around. i'm sure there are a few others i can't think of. luckily, a lot of recent disappointments like heavenly sword and gta:sa were gamefly rentals.

wow, thats fun!

@Guardiansentry: again, the ps3 is not a media center extender (look it up). ain't gonna happen.

dont hold your breath for an xp version. or a ps3 version since watch it now uses drm'd windows media and doesn't use media center extenders like the 360 does.

mgs5 will be a card game for the wii.
