i find it amusing that on lifehacker there is a pointer to a best buy coupon while at consumerist they're always on about "don't shop at best buy".

i actually like hotspotr better.

@Falconfire: why don't you tell us what that statement means then. because, you know, microsoft would never ever do anything like this.

@tyojohn: so you admit to being a troll. i'll remember that.

ugh, hit submit before i meant to. wish we could edit comments. anyway, things i like most about os x that don't come with windows: quick look and spaces, two things i find it really hard to live without, especially on my macbook pro at work.

@tyojohn: i am a mac user. i do not use macs because they are "cool", or because i claim to be smarter than anyone else. i use a mac because it works for me. i also run windows on my work mac because i need it to do some server administration and other things i cannot do in os x. in other words, i use what works for

@lilkeith7: yeah, but then i have to use adobe air. no thanks.

@lexbaby: almost amusingly, that only seems to happen to me using firefox.

os x: adium

@PotKettleBlack: i would, if the local tap water didn't taste like ass. plus the water supply may be fine (cincinnati has great water treatment) but i live in an old apartment building and the local pipes may be where it's picking up the off tastes. i'll keep my pur tap filter, thanks.

@shirike: except unless i pay for a decent usenet service, usenet sucks. that kind've defeats the purpose of "free", yes?

@the_Sleepwalker: BUZZZ. wrong. isps have a perfect right to monitor all traffic on their network including what sites you go to, if you are running a server, what you are down/uploading and anything else that might be a violation of the eula. you remember the eula, right? that thing nobody bothers to read but

mostly multiple people sending me the same links to the same "funny" youtube video 140000000 times or some inane "inspirational" bullshit even though i've asked them a million times to stop.

@vondruska: umm, more likely got a cease and desist from apple.

isn't "online social life" an oxymoron?

@thinkalive: so far. one of these days it won't be. good luck with that.

excellent! works like a champ. thanks a lot for the pointer.

@Ryan Fisher: macs can do ftp in a shell window, so can windows. these, however, require you to know ftp commands to use them. a drag and drop ui is much easier for most people.

@rabiddachshund: why not make a portable firefox on a flash drive? or do they lock those out?
