This. As someone who grew up with only Nintendo consoles, I was so thrown off when I first played Kingdom Hearts and the lower X-button was confirm instead of the O on the right. To this day it takes time to adjust when I’m jumping between Switch and PS4. 

maybe because i’m asian american but x in america is cancel as well, and o in american is connect to “on” as in close circuit. In america we cross things out with an x and select things by circling them.

Sony should leave Japan’s mappings the same and change the rest of the world. I’m real tired of confirm/cancel being opposite on Sony and Nintendo consoles

Smash has always done a great job of blending all the varied art styles of its characters, but I just can’t imagine how you mesh Steve in. Doesn’t help that his design is hideous in the first place. He makes G&W look like the Mona Lisa. 

I get that people are genuinely excited for him, but....barf. He’s just so damn ugly and clashes with the game aesthetic more than any other character. Even when they added Steve to the banner, it looked like photoshop. And his character icon? Jesus. 

This movie is gonna fit comfortably between the Need for Speed movie and Prince of Persia in the ever-growing list of awful video game movies.

it was always a long shot, but I think he deserved a song too, at least (“We Are Finally Cowboys would’ve been my pick).

I’m somewhat disappointed. It’s better than him not being in at all, but he would’ve been such a cool fighter.

I am eternally surprised they don’t cash out and get fans happy with that sort of thing.  I felt almost sure there’d be a Bowser Jr. echo fighter by now all tricked out to be Dr. Robotnik.  Like, in his little egg car thing.  That you could buy for five bucks.

because he’s a goddamn perfectionist. a perfectionist could give themselves a heart attack over painting a fingernail. it doesn’t matter how superficially simple or complicated something appears to be. to a perfectionist, their job is their religion. 

This article is insanely fucking dishonest. You can’t just say that Uncle Ruckus “ proudly spewed gross, racist rhetoric” and not explain what the point of the character (and the show in general) is.

literally anybody. but they had to go to Microsoft to get Steve. they could have gotten Master Chief or Conker. I feel like they went with Steve because they thought about how interesting it would be to integrate Minecraft gameplay into Smash Bros. but it’s just so underwhelming.
