But you were fine with the ambulatory egg shell?

It is reverse-engineered. Like, he’s had a couple whole days to think of a rationale for “why he’s not racist” (like that’s the most important thing here - which in his mind it is, because why should her feelings or the bigoted stereotypes he’s carelessly perpetuating matter, you know?). So there’s all that. *weary

I hate to be part of the mob mentality, but this excuse/hamfisted apology strikes me as BS. Firstly he denied having made the racist insult, now he suddenly recalls that he did, but hey, it was part of a skit, a skit Yi apparently wasn’t in on. And to make matters worse he says that because his friend and colleague

His version is probably true...but it still makes him an asshole. I mean, I would get it if it was someone he had known for a while, and they enjoy busting each other’s balls. But to foist that act on someone you just met makes you a dick.

It could’ve been worse. His defence could’ve been “It was JUST FOR LAUGHS!”

I met David Cross at a house party in either the late 90s or early 2000s, and he was a bit of an Asshole, but I had the same first thought as you. Also, me pestering him to say “Chicken Pot, Chicken Pot, Chicken Pot Pie” probably didn’t help.

In before the comments turn into a total shitshow. For the record, that was one weak-ass “apology” and the #Rashomon tag directed to an Asian person is not cute. David, just say you were coked off your face and move on.

So he, like the vast overwhelming majority of people associated with this story, looked the other way until the very moment it became good for his career to call out Weinstein. So brave?

tl;dr version: “I’m off the Miramax gravy train, so I stand to lose nothing by saying now what I should have said 20 years ago.”

Call your friends out. Call them out immediately. If they are being sketchy tell them. If they are being gross tell them. Don’t laugh at it. Don’t pass it off because you know they’re good people or they’re generous with you. Tell them to cut the shit. And tell them to tell you if they see you being sketchy.

It’s hard to separate those two, because the deniers are all also ignorant.

#AllHolidaysMatter

All this smacks of self-congratulatory behavior. The producers guild? I mean, where do they think the term “casting couch” originated, the furniture store?

“...report that by the unanimous vote of both the PGA and the United States Congress, Harvey Weinstein has been cleared to continue producing movies and committing heinous sexual assault at his pleasure.”

yup, every club he’s a member of is now going to wait a couple days to announce kicking him out so they can all get their own social media pats on the back for it.

This whole story is total bullshit. More left-wing lies from the lamestream media. Pence does NOT want to ‘hang all the gays’. He is a deeply religious man of unshakable conviction. He wants to stone them.

“Like every well-meaning, self-centered dingus chiming in on a woman’s twitter feed, I desperately want to belong to whatever’s cool and righteous. I am tolerated at best, until the people I’m trying to be chummy with eventually turn the hashtag guns on me, at which point I either scurry back into the darkness or join

“Fourth Addendum, Prologue: As a white male, for whom this moment is unequivocally not about, I will be forced to continue updating my thoughts with more mealy-mouthed thoughts because I’m getting it from all angles—deservedly so, because I made it about me and my feelings (1/25)“

I’ve given this some thought, and I disagree. I think rumours and allegations about things like sexual abuse should be taken *more* seriously, and people making allegations should be given the benefit of the doubt.
