[hold music plays] “...when you’re walking alone... because Jellicles are, and, Jellicles do ...

The fuck you mean “is next?” It’s BEEN here.

Just FYI, the “base is eating it up” account you linked to is a trollbot according to Bot Sentinel.

Even by the time of the redaction of the Talmud (Jewish code of law) about 2,000 years ago, the concept of “eye for eye, tooth for tooth” meant “equal punishment for the crime, regardless of status, and a specified monetary penalty at that.” Millennia ago we knew it was barbaric to just trade blow for blow and to go

Nope, they’re doing just fine here. I’ll stick around. Since you’re having a miserable time though maybe you can hop on over to reddit or something. Whichever.

Or.. it’s reporting on pop culture in the context of greater culture? Which right now has a lot of waves being made with regard to women, sexual and gender minorities, and racial/ethnic minorities. Weinstein, #TimesUp, #MeToo, #BLM... they’re widespread hashtags for a reason.

“sexual preference”

Pop off with the BS about “well actors can play ANYTHING if they’re TALENTED!”

But this, this, I’m supposed to get worked up about? An actor interview where her alleged opinion is she can play any role and be allowed?

Well if “all your queer buds” say it doesn’t matter that non-whites/straights/cis are shoved aside and kept from roles they were born to play, shut MY big fuckin’ queer mouth. *bows in deference*

I think most of them already have done so in their own languages, from their nations of origin. But they’re still Brown People.

You can look it up and... no they weren’t

Yeah, that’s what I seem to remember too but I wasn’t sure if I was just painting her with a rosy brush. Gimme a woman character like that any day. She did it for the money but stayed pretty clean in the long run.

Damn. That is.. BASEline.

The time it came out, “American Pie” got good reviews and was lauded for how frank it handled teen sexuality. Lyonne is absolutely right though. I gotta love her bluntness - doing it for money. I don’t remember her character being so bad either, but it’s been a while. Her other 1999 movie, queer cult classic “But I’m

10 year old me thought Katrina Johnson’s Ross Perot character on All That was one of the funniest f’in things on TV. I’m kinda in awe of the fact that they took that leap - I mean I guess he’s cartoonish enough on his own, yeah - but still. They trusted their audience with that one and it paid off.

The original comment was the ice cream. This one is the cherry.

Wanna get into the heads of middle age women frustrated by sex? Hire women writers.

Both of those things do. It’s a cliché idea, made all the more so by clueless men. The only way it could be interesting is if a different perspective were writing it. It would still be stupid and boring af, played for the male audience. But at least it would be a different perspective.

They need to hire some damn women writers if they really wanna get into that perspective. But they won’t, so it’ll just be the same stupid shit bros always write with those kinds of characters
