I remember getting the cassette tape in ‘94 for The Sign and All That She Wants, but loving “Dancer in a Daydream” and “Waiting for Magic (7" Mix).” That last one is probably my favorite song of theirs. The original version of it is decent, but a far second to the remix.
Like the rest of the violent and cyclical narrative of the Book Of Judges, his story resists evangelical interpretations or most attempts to read the values of the New Testament into the heroes of the Old.
He was by far my favorite character of this episode. Potentially of the season...
That was a clear misstep. It was my least favorite episode of the entire series. And you’re not biased for speaking out about how you and your concerns are represented on TV.
Twitter benefits from Putin’s botnets because traffic and user interaction are generated as a result (even if it IS between 2 different bots yelling at one another). This artificially inflates the value of the product itself, making it seem like more actual humans are using it than they are. Take away those bots and…
Time jumps like that weird me out - but the Heather storyline weirded me out the most for some reason. I dunno, it was probably deliberate, but her getting pregnant just seems like a bad, impulsive decision for her, and as Hector said, definitely one she can’t back out of.
Agreed - Lindsay Ellis did an excellent commentary on RENT, and I *think* the topic has been broached on this site as well?
Nope, never said that. And saying “you proved my point” doesn’t magically make it so. But whatever pickles your cucumber.

A sequel to a blockbuster movie that showed “the jews” as hook-nose k****s thirsty for the blood of a person who is “clearly” their savior but they reject anyway? During a time when actual Nazis are in the government and anti-Semitic incidents/crimes rose substantially in the past year?
“Thanks for proving my point.”
That’s something people typically say when they don’t know what to say but want to appear like they’ve “won” some type of argument.
Nothing says “I have something reasonable to add to this discussion not at all inflammatory” like the words “I’m probably going to get crucified” and “ideological totalitarianism.”

The white worms in the Sole are very common, simply by virtue of the fact that it’s wild-caught. They’re not tapeworms, they’re nematodes - you cook them and they’ll die, and eating them isn’t any more harmful than eating the cooked fish itself. http://www.cooksinfo.com/fish-worms
Unless El and Max become best friends, fuck it. Do better with your [supposedly, strong] female characters.
One of the best things “Family Guy” ever did was in its first season where it utterly mocked the show and that storyline in particular. As an 8th grade who had NO TIME for that shit yet surrounded by fellow teenage girls OBSESSED with it, I never felt more kinship with an episode of television.
I see it. But can they please use him sparingly the next season? He doesn’t wear the Crown. Elizabeth does.
I read through the article but they didn’t mention Ned Ludd, progenitor of the Luddites - and someone who never existed. But that didn’t stop Luddites from claiming, mere decades later, he indeed DID exist and that his cause was one worth dying for. There were documents supposedly signed by him. They were all…
