And if Faris married him, she probably did too.

Uh huh. Sorry about actually citing science there.

Sigh. Fine, we know generally how and why all of those work and maybe not every little detail. Unlike the acupuncture scam, which no one can explain how it supposedly works outside of some energy malarkey because it doesn't.

my boyfriend works in a chiropractor's office and does NOT appreciate it when he's telling a random work story "and so Dr Eileen said..." and I'm like "yeah, Eileen's not a doctor, but go on"

That summary freely admits that they have no idea how this scam treatment actually “works”, so the whole thing is worthless. That supposed JAMA study doesn't show a damn thing.

It’s grade-a nonsense.

“Wellness” is an excellent indicator for pseudo-science nonsense like homeopathy and acupuncture, isn't it?

Wow way to add negative stigma towards our American prison complex.

I’m in favour of abolishing the draft entirely.

Don’t you sleep with married men? I’m positive I saw you boasting about it on Groupthink. So I guess it’s okay when married men hit on you as long you aren’t friends with their wives? :/

I always laugh when people are, like, shocked when you walk or ride a bike somewhere that is a real destination, but then think it’s totally normal to drive to a gym so that they can ride a bike/go for a run without actually going anywhere.

the conspicuous absence of the male gaze

You know, if you think something you said is funny, and no one else does, it’s probably your sense of humor that’s off (rather than the entire rest of the world). Just a thought.

Why do people go to this line when they realize their jokes weren’t funny, logical, or beneficial to the conversation at hand. I’m great at parties, but your joke fuckin’ sucked.

I didn’t miss the point at all. You clearly have some incorrect notions about Minneapolis, even if you are intelligent enough to realize there are more than 10 black people, or you wouldn’t have had that thought and posted your dumb joke.

Minneapolis and St Paul are actually quite diverse. The rest of the state may be 98% white, but there are a hell of a lot more than 10 black people in the twin cities.

I’m still holding out for this to happen again.

My problem is not with sex, and certainly not with sex workers. My problem is the assumptions that women in every single field have to be sexy while they perform their job. Every single field.

It creates part of the problem that a lot of women are valued entirely for their looks and for no other reason.
