Now that’s clever. Might just have a giant battery setup in what would be an elevator mechanical room as a way to balance the loads. Using the LIM’s as generators while going down isn’t going to be 100% efficient, but neither is a counterweight on a typical elevator. It’ll get close.

Transmission, suspension, and aero definitely would play a big part. I definitely would want to see it happen.

Transmission gearing definitely plays a part, I’d think with the technical stuff though, their suspension setups and rather minimal aero would work against them. Still want to see this happen though.
