That’s true, Block 4 is going to be a major improvement with SDBs.

I know, I’m all about the BBBBBRRRRRRRRRTTTTTT, and bombs are more often used, but armchair general me says that the F-35B just doesn’t have the payload. So the big variable in CAS is if its a contested environment or not, ie does the enemy have fighters and SAMs. In which case, sure F-35 is much more survivable, but

Yeah I’m still not convinced the F-35B will be good at CAS...

I’m so upset I’m missing NYIAS by a week... I’ll be in NYC this weekend not next...

One of the main considerations when purchasing a car, is that I don’t want other people to ask me for rides. So any car with an essentially unusable back seat for sitting adults is perfect!

I’ve got a lease on a 2o17 Elantra Limited from September, and I was rather pissed I didn’t get the memo about this before signing on the dotted line. I’m a fan, but I think the weakest point is that the tires are designed for a tread life of like 39846720934867520345 miles. Warm tires spinning from the start being

I’ve got a 2017 Elantra Limited, not the 201 hp sport version, but I average 27.1 over the last 4k miles, its vastly more city driving than highway though. When aggressive I can get down into the low 20's, and when conservative on the highway I’ll get 45+

So Jason, there’s a few columns I’d like to see added. Lets assume that all of these costs are solo costs, I’d like to see what it costs when going with 3 friends, and what it costs with like 10 total people. So like, with an airplane ticket, going solo makes a ton of sense, but with 10 people not as much, since

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that there’s plenty of direct NYC to LA flights though...

While the C-130 is definitely durable as a truck, note that for instance they only fly out of Kuwait for their Iraq/Afghanistan missions. These kinds of assets you stage medium far from the conflict, so using a very fast, decently fuel efficient, decently large enough platform such as the G550 is more akin to grabbing

Don’t forget the Miatas...

Honestly the autonomous truck design looks the most mature and possible. The trucking industry is going to be rather disrupted by this kind of tech. The two modules is also extremely forward looking.

As far as the sides of semi trailers is concerned, they can easily be combined with aero to increase efficiency at highway speeds, I figure these would literally pay for themselves after a time from the fuel savings.

That makes sense, extreme regulation, limited suppliers and a sole installer tends to do that. I figure there would be significant differences between the two styles of reactor, I’d not thought about enrichment percentage though, it’d make sense to use highly enriched on a submarine where it being struck is

When everyone else gets rid of their armies, then we can possibly talk about getting rid of ours.

Thanks, yeah that makes a lot of sense. Though isn’t the S9G (Virginia class Sub) much smaller than the A1B? What kind of economies of scale would be needed to actually make the TOC go down to feasible levels?

Color me corrected then. Were they just impractical due to the size of nuclear reactors of the time? Would a modern nuclear reactor such as one pulled from Virginia Class sub be practical?

Nuclear destroyers... Russia’s got a few

You first.

Military grade =/= good, Military grade == good enough from the lowest bidder
