So long as they don’t spell it like an idiot. Spyder, eww it hurts just to type. I hate that Porsche, Lamborghini and some others do it.

Thank you for this Stef, such a personal account of trauma is a rare and brave thing. Talking to you during SXSW merely 5 weeks afterwards was enlightening, and this write up provides much more context. I hope you continue to feel better, see ya soon.

A Falcon Heavy with a Raptor upper stage would likely be able to put quite a bit into GTO or a metric shitton into LEO. There are complications of course but those can be overcome.

I’m in the camp that the Flex is a minivan with an identity crisis.

That’s some low hanging fruit you just plucked...

We’ll see. If it’s scalable, space telescopes, cell phone cameras, eyeglass, microscopes, DSLR’s, and everything else that uses lenses could be impacted. I’d love that.

I agree, they are strong words. I almost always hedge my statements, but when considering this it seems pretty binary to me. There will always be limits to things be them technological or physics related, and a dedicated platform doesn’t need to make nearly the sacrifices of a “do it all” platform.

I’m a fan of two factor authentication for this kind of thing then, fingerprint + a 4 alphanumeric value would likely work nicely as a way to greatly simplify your passwords, while greatly enhancing security if it has for instance a try lockout. Two factor authentication is always going to be orders of magnitude more

Well I mean, I carry two flashlights... but I do realize that’s a bit excessive, though they have different purposes. I know of at least one person who conceals three guns on their person at all times. That’s truly excessive.

Yeah the exotic directions they can take in are crazy cool, if apertures could get down to F1.2 or lower for people (affordably) that would already be a killer feature.

Yes, instead of lens being a limiting factor, sensor and other components will be. I’m curious as to what kind of aperture values this kind of tech would enable. Would we all be able to have F1.2 or faster equivalents for everything (affordably)? Would apertures be adjustable for varying the depth of field? other

I wholeheartedly agree, I break out my DSLR rather rarely when I know there’s something I’ll want good photos of. For the other 99% of pictures I take, I use my smartphone. Saying though that a smartphone camera will be capable of better photos than a dedicated platform of even one or two generations previous DSLRs is

Agreed... As if vastly changing a usecase and set of constraints doesnt change how something performs... DSLRs will always have better quality than a smartphone camera. Dedicated hardware is always better at what it’s designed to do than a swiss army tool that can also do the thing. Just because a phone has an LED on

Alternate title: This terrifying animation shows how quickly a global pandemic would spread via airplanes! AHH!!!

Yeah, I’d probably say Anker and Aukey are two of the very few third party device charging manufacturers that I respect and trust to have good components and build quality.

Anything??? Soylent?

Don’t threaten us with a good time...

The higher the number the better, unless it’s a low number, then its better. The S is faster than C, GT is more comfy and usable than C, LT is more better than S, and P is second best overall but current generation first best, anything with an F is best ever, but even more better if it has LM, if there’s a GTR at the

Anybody up for a viewing in Austin?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kinja had a hidden subroutine that detects when people actually aren’t having a bad experience, and then does something malicious.
