There are also a lot fewer examples of the male love interest to the female hero out there to draw from (hell, even in the comics themselves these days female heroes seem to either be portrayed as sexless in their personal relationships, lesbians, or working too hard to date, which seldom stops the men in tights).

Heh basically you can sum most of it up as Sexism! Female love interests and girlfriends of male superheroes still get a lot of the same deal they always have. They may get better roles because of progress but that doesn’t always make them exempt from the same old stories. Partially cause of familiar tropes and lazy

Nah. That ice is plenty thick - you could still, even with all those holes, land a decent sized aircraft on it. Only takes 1" to support a human (not that I'd recommend it) and there's probably a couple feet up there by now.
