Yeah, what the fuck was that? “Here’s something we should REALLY be concerned about, not my little dalliances.” What a garbage person.
OH AND ALSO coming of age in the 60's and 70's doesn’t mean that anti-harrassment training in the workplace hasn’t been in a law in California since 2004.
That’s not a bad take, that is the worst take.
Mina Kimes for the win.
Yeah, it’s “mom.”
This is the part that angered me most, as a Puerto Rican (my mom is from there) and somebody who has a lot of family there. Why the fuck are they not visiting the parts that were decimated? Not trying to minimize the situation but fuck, at least the folks in that area still have houses.
Christ, the mental hoops people are jumping through. The IOC should look into adding it as an event for the next Summer Olympics.
So, seriously, I know we’re 10 months in but how often do the rest of you have one of those “Oh right, Donald Fucking Trump is the President of the United States” moments? It happens to me less often now but still, you know, once or twice a week. The guy they used to make fun of in Bloom County, the guy Ali G screwed…
My friend’s mother made a “What an ass” FB post, and garnered this response:
I think the first article of his I saw was the one on redlining maybe 3 or 4 years ago. The quality just bent my mind.
I remember when Coates first started blogging at the Atlantic. I remember thinking, who IS this guy who writes like a poet about current events? And like Michael says, he wrote opinion pieces like research papers, with lots of sources that weren’t the usual thing. I would show his stuff to whoever I thought would…
I cannot wait to buy it and read it.... At a minimum, Coates’ vocabulary is OFF THE CHAIN. Bring a dictionary along with you when you sit down to read this masterpiece.
Can anyone explain why cops are still given the opportunity to turn off their body cams, ever?
What did all those generations of American soldiers die for since 1776 if not for a rigid suppression of dissent and absolute loyalty of all citizens to federal power?
Leaving aside the probably out of place moralizing about “cheating” in such an inherently corrupt system I think it’s fair to say that Pitino isn’t the only shady actor in the field and most coaches, who have just as much access to top level recruits, haven’t had his success.
As someone who was one of “those guys” that was way too into high school recruiting, there were always allegations that he ran with a pretty bad crowd even before college and that the death of his father exacerbated his negative behavior.
“Hey, did you come across a disabled woman out there?”
Ken Jennings said buzzer timing is the real trick to Jeopardy. You need to get in with the answers you know.
True Story: my sister tried out for Jeopardy a few years back at an open casting. She killed the written exam they give and then put her up against two other people in a live contest.
