Thank you so much for speaking about your experience. I really think that the more women share their stories, the less people will be able to cling to their misconceptions about women who have abortions. You can’t easily demonize a group of people who confidently speak out about themselves and their choices.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for speaking about your own experience. This is so well written and makes complete sense.

“Murder of an innocent human”... but I’m willing to consider it if the innocent human was conceived through rape!

Wow, how awful that your country has yet to grant even those meager exceptions, though I guess considering them is a positive step.

Looking at belly’s commenting history, it appears they may have a bit of a misogyny problem themselves, at least as far as disparaging Beyoncé for “coochie popping” (?) can be indicative of such problems.

Not to mention the fact that apparently, black voters’ beliefs and values are suddenly wrong and misguided if they happened to vote for Hillary, great Satan that she is. If they vote for her, they obviously don’t know what’s good for them, and should listen to the white voters who do.

It is possible that shelwood was referring (albeit rudely) to the fact that all women were punished for speaking out on diversity, regardless of race.

Believing people who say they were sexually assaulted is not the same as letting them give testimony wholly unprepared. You seem to be conflating two things that are not the same at all.

Britany Maack. Pics are on her tumblr :)

I agree with you that we’re not far apart here. What I meant by “messy” is that girls tend to be discouraged from using any menstrual products that involve them getting to know their own bodies or touching blood - that’s why so many can’t even fathom using non-applicator tampons. I think that’s a shame, and that it’s

Wait - honestly? You think the only thing that’s buoyed up Clinton’s recent political career is the fact that she’s a woman? Can you support this seemingly insane assumption?

I mean “not an option” more in the vein of cost and logistics. We don’t know what the home lives of these girls look like; regularly washing pads or menstrual cups may not be feasible for them. Having supplies they can easily dispose of and replace, rather than pricier items that they actually have to have around at

Tampons aren’t categorically “terrible”, at least not for every girl/woman. I can understand being concerned about waste issues, but beyond that, I can’t see what’s so awful about giving young girls tampons. They’re cheap and reliable, and if we want struggling public schools to be able to provide extremely necessary

Wow, you’ve just brought up so many more issues that I hadn’t even considered. A rape exception would just be a legal and moral nightmare. Either you force a rape victim to get a conviction - thereby going through the excruciating legal process and re-traumatizing her, as you said - knowing there’s no chance you can

Yes, exactly!! That’s my main concern about Bernie - that it’s not an issue that’s very high on his priority list, and thus that it might not get the attention it deserves during a Sanders presidency - and I’d love to have my fears assuaged. If they could talk about the highly relevant issue of TRAP laws for even ten

Ugh, if there’s one thing I actually find worse than people who want to ban abortion under all circumstances, it’s people who only want it allowed for the “right” reasons. If you want abortion outlawed except in the cases you have deemed permissible, then it’s not about “precious baybees” to you - it’s about

Everyone keeps using the excuse that they’re both pro-choice, so what more could we possibly want to know? Well, news flash, both candidates are liberal and generally have the same positions on most things, yet they manage to have wildly different opinions on how to get things done. I’d love to hear about how they

NARAL (and probably other organizations too, but NARAL’s what I’m following) has been pushing so hard for the moderators to ask a single question about reproductive rights at a dem debate. It’s been ages since the subject’s been brought up. I didn’t catch the whole thing either, but I didn’t hear any discussion of

Of course they’re lying. They’d love to see those sluts locked up for not keeping their legs closed. Putting women in their place is the end game of the movement.
