Hate watch indeed. A friend who lives in Ireland just this morning declared that she’s not watching the movie.

From time to time I’ve had a song like that that’s gripped me for a few days, but generally not longer than that (it usually gets replaced by another!). The last ones were from Bower’s former band COUNTERFEIT. called The New Insane (I heard someone ask about it “What in the Nine Inch Nails awesomeness is this?”) and En…
I’m so offended by it I have no words. The movie simultaneously situates Ireland in the 50s and in the current time. Christopher FECKING Walken??? I mean even the guy born on the island of Ireland can’t get the accent right.
You’re very welcome. That is a beautiful lyric. It cuts deep doesn’t it?
Boo to the relapse, but YAY to the infusion having you feeling better. Hope it stays that way.
You’re welcome. I meant to add that Jamie (Campbell) Bower has been rolling out his new project over the past weeks and he’s got this kind of story going on Twitter, with these characters: Norman, Agatha and Hector. So, just before the above song dropped I replied to him in his “it’s about to drop tweet”. He replied…
Lovely photos.
So cute. Please give him a skritch under the chin from me.
Continuing on music recs from last week, same artists different songs.
Single paper towels, one at a time, crumpled up.
Agreed. She and Domingo were perfection (or very near to it) in this episode.
Currently listening to the Motherfoclior podcast about this movie, with the AVClub’s Caroline Siede. Highly recommended for it’s snark on terrible Irish accents throughout film.
He & his family (well, the eldest three) could take a quick trip to Russia on or about 01.19.2021. And tell the pilot they’ll ‘find their own way home’.
It’s a great point. I’m 51 years old and the artists I’ve been listening to range in age from their early 20s to their 70s. And those in their 70s who I find still relevant are those who don’t disregard those in their 20s simply because of how young they are. And I’d also suggest that it’s helpful to listen to artists…
You’re welcome. Here’s another new-ish artist I’ve been grooving to lately. Great grime/dance music. (Fair warning: adult language.)
Okay, so normally I HATE Santa Baby. BUT!!! This version is perfectly tripped-out psychedelic that I can get behind it. But just this version mind you.
You’re welcome. I’m almost constitutionally unable to “marinate in the music of my youth” (love that phrasing and I’m going to borrow it (with attribution of course!)). Over on Facebook I belong to a group of people who grew up listening to a Long Island area radio station in the 80s - this tiny little station that…
Holy crow this all sounds just so awful. And stupid.
The place looks lovely. The dog: so cute. Glad you’re settling in.
Wishing you only good health reports (NED is the best three letter combo!). And as to your neighbour: so sorry to read this. I don’t understand people, I really don’t.
