Similarly, I think he wanted to win in ’16, but I’m not sure he actually wanted to *be* POTUS.
Went to a socially distanced, outdoor (tent, two sides open) Joan Osborne concert. The tent was set up in the venue parking lot. LIVE music, in person: a balm for my frazzled soul.
Nice work. I totally see the Queen.
We can rename him once he’s jailed, like Antar.
Also there’s Barron’s, a finance/investment publication. I’ve not heard this as gospel truth, but I think the kid is named for it. Similar to how Tiffany (obligatory: #ByeTiffany) is named for the Fifth Avenue store.
I think Obama’s cadence is perfect. It’s very like poetry. The pauses do allow for absorbing & processing. Or as my debate coach would say: they give the listener time to catch up to the speaker.
Sometime around February, March of ’17 I could no longer listen to anything 45* would say (it was tough before then, but for some reason I broke at that point), so I decided to read a transcript and my headache worsened. Word salad is right.
Hey Ted, I got some news for you:
“And just like that Chase was like the country: split in half.”
A great line.
The Northern Irish were excluded from conscription during WWII. They could volunteer to serve. Those who did weren’t fighting “alongside” the English because they were (& still are) English.
No. my football fandom leans more towards the round ball football. So, West Ham United. Who are equally heartbreaking.
Rangers & Mets fan here: heartbreak twice a year like clockwork.
The test he had someone else sit for him.
Yep.
Seriously. Everytime I see someone tweet about how big Biden’s lead is I have to reply “he must run as if he’s 20 points behind, until (even after maybe?) 03 Nov”. His supporters have to keep thinking this too, to ensure massive turnout.
*thing.
An actual think you can actually buy from the actual campaign:
Apropos not of the Plexiglas at all, just thought I’d leave this here:
Yep. At my office, we’ve had plexiglass barriers installed, but we’ve also got exhaust hoods over each desk. At the moment, I’m pretty much the only one going in aside from my boss (who sits in a separate office, many feet away), so my colleagues’ desks are covered even if they’re not there.
