I mentioned this on another comment thread: I”m not sure he’s considered a felon. The sentence was (less than?) a year; a felony is a crime where the sentence is not less than a a year. He likely entered a guilty plea (or was found guilty by a judge or jury) on some sort of misdemeanor.

I know this is picking nits: is he a felon? The sentence was less than a year. A felony is a crime punishable by a term of not less than one year.
