Finger pointing? How is any finger pointing going at anyone except the two players and, maybe, their coaches?

I think it’s good the case was thrown out but it does set a dangerous precedence. The couple was mostly upset because they wanted both their kids to have the same father, which is something that goes beyond race. Future couples now have to be wary and the sperm bank should be held accountable for that.
I love it. Only certain people, though.
Anyone tried ASMR? That stuff is legit, it can put me to sleep in the middle of a coffee high.
Yup. That’s kinda like saying you can’t be upset about racism because you’ve benefited from white privilege?
It’s a more a form of internet journalism than a school of progressive thought. It’s moral law enforced in the courtroom of rising expectations. There are only varying levels of guilt doled out.
What astonishes me is that the liberal left used to be the side of the political spectrum most concerned with discussion and dialogue. Now the name of the game is exclusively to shame people, and commentators are often far more concenred with being Right (as in correct), and another particular person being Wrong.…
I agree with this. I remember this article from earlier this year:
It’s been like this for years now. The leftwing is no longer leftwing. They hate transgression, demand apologies but rarely grant forgiveness, and have to point out enemies in society to convince themselves they’re good people. It’s beyond self-righteous, and it’s antihuman, because it reduces everyone to the worst…
Not sure the list of names that you have offered is comparable, all of these people excluding Yusuf Islam actually did something that caused their visa to be revoked. The notion that we can deny visa based on thoughts and art created is absurd. The drug use histories of Amy, George, Nigella is what cause the denial…
Just a heads up, it’s not going to rub many people the right way if feminism starts focusing on censoring and policing individual speech.
I’m growing more and more uncomfortable with the seemingly increasing progressive notion that people’s backgrounds must be fully delved into and punishment doled out for things they did years and years ago, retroactive, permanent punishment. It strikes me as so anti-liberal.
That study only studied women who were seeking fertility treatment. For obvious reasons, no conclusions about prevalence of PCOS among lesbians in general can be drawn from it.
Do you seriously think that Portia de Rossi only dresses “in a heteronormative feminine way” only on her wedding day? She’s basically the blonde Angelina Jolie.
Myself, my wife and the majority of my lesbian friends conform to Hetero standards of femininity for the most part. Most are married and/or have several kids at this point. With women. Not a wanna-be man-snagger in the bunch. Studies like this are such bullshit. You can “look Hetero” and be the biggest dyke on the…
We aren’t disagreeing here. I’m saying that people who do things explicitly to attract others are, in fact, trying to attract others. It’s kind of a no-brainer and I’m not sure why you’re arguing with me.
Attractive is attractive. You’re not going to tell me that fit men/women are just presenting themselves in a heteronormative way. It’s an attractive trait, period.
I am super curious what you felt able to let go of...I know I make some non-traditional grooming/preening choices out of comfort (e.g. can’t be bothered to shave with any regularity, natural hair), but I am interested in what choices you made as a reflection of your personal desirability/comfort levels.
Yeah, me and Cindymoo are what they call “lipstick lesbians”. Both of us are 100% attracted to women, and get a lot of attention from men, with constant comments that we’re “too pretty to be lesbians” or whatever. (I don’t see it in myself, but Cindymoo is pretty damn hot.) I’ve got long hair, good skin, a petite…
I think what he’s trying to say is that it can be challenging to acknowledge that you are attracted to the same sex if you do not have the opportunity to physically engage with them. I only say this because I am one of those people.
