Wow, he found some real clarity in his life. You can’t bag on someone who has that level of self awareness. Not to mention a great capacity for kindness to the people be cared for. I’m impressed.

Watch Doubt on CBS. Laverne Cox plays a lawyer and her being trans is just a part of her character. Also, follow her and Chaz Bono and Janet Mock and Jen Richards and Stephen Ira (Annette Bening and Warren Beatty’s son) on twitter.
Transguy here. Your discomfort is probably around ambiguity in some transpeople than transpeople themselves. Lots of people, even the most open-minded people, tend to have a visceral deep discomfort with ambiguity of gender/sex. Even many transpeople struggle. I now read 100% male to people after medical transition,…
I think you’re still confused about pronouns and terms and everything here. “Boys Don’t Cry” is about a trans man, Brandon Teena. Laverne Cox is a trans woman. That’s why you got pilloried - you were misgendering people.
Sit down and really, really think about why you’re uncomfortable with trans people. Are you caught up in thinking in terms of “loud, obnoxious, tacky drag queen” stereotypes? Did you buy in to the “Men in dresses sneaking into women’s bathrooms” fear? Are you more uncomfortable with trans women than trans men?
I feel like education and exposure go a long way. Read up and get to know the trans community as “people” instead of abstract concepts. People tend to be more comfortable with diversity when they are no longer “the Other,” but instead a friend or neighbor.
