Here’s a timely story from NPR. Just get a flu shot already, people.

I use LastPass to also store important documents like scans of passports and financial info for insurance and banking. I think we’re so busy trying to convince people to use a password manager in the first place (come on already), we never talk about all the other great benefits.

A-OK with it. A human mother willingly and lovingly gives her child milk. A cow has her baby taken away (and probably turned into veal) so that humans can have her milk. That’s the ethical concern.

There’s a popular burger joint near me that added the Beyond Burger done up with special sauce, cheese, an onion, ring, and bacon (all vegan). It’s phenomenal.

Yes. People who have nonsense they call “house rules” just prolong the game unnecessarily.

That’s correct. Here’s the statement from the Sonos FAQ: The home theater speaker (not the surrounds) determines if your home theater setup is AirPlay-compatible. While Playbar is not AirPlay-compatible, home theater setups with Playbase and Sonos Beam will work with AirPlay 2.

Thanks. It’s still better than the Sonos response to replace my $700 Playbar with the $400 Beam in the 5.1 setup.

I was excited about this update and bought two Sonos Ones for Christmas in anticipation (you need two because you can’t pair a Sonos One with a Play:1.) So on the day of the release, I did the updates, only to discover that if the Sonos Ones are part of a stereo surround setup (which of course they are) then you can’t

Every month I do an encrypted backup to my Mac. I recall that restoring from an encrypted backup means not having to set up your email accounts again because the backup has the passwords stored. Am I behind the times? Does everyone just backup over Wi-Fi now?

I use it that way too and trust it (it’s baked into a lot of merchants’ checkout procedures), but I think Alicia may be referring to using the app to send money to individuals similarly to Venmo. I’ve started using ApplePay to send and receive money from friends and it’s been working great.

I never see anyone talking about it, but if you’re on a Mac then try Banktivity (formerly iBank.) I was a Microsoft Money user and after it died I migrated to Quicken which I hated. I’ve been using Banktivity happily for years. It’s robust, gets updated often, and has a great app.

I had my interview just this week in NY. I met a woman who tried to do her interview when she landed at JFK but gave up because the line was very long. So perhaps try the airport, but have an interview scheduled just in case. You can always cancel it later. Also, I was happy to learn that you’re free to show up any

I found it therapeutic to clean up my digital life after leaving. Delete voicemails and texts from former colleagues. You’ll feel better not having to scroll past messages that prompt you to relive annoying conversations.

Littering in New York is a hot topic today!

On a related note, I pick up after other people’s dogs while walking mine. I never catch anyone not cleaning up, yet I find poop *everywhere*. For a supposedly nice neighboorhood, the residents are disgusting. Close behind are chicken wings and pizza crusts. I can easily fill several bags before my dog does her

My Samsung TV has gotten dumber over the years. It started out with dozens of options (many of which didn’t work very well) and now it’s basically just Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix. I’m fine with this devolution since it’s become much easier to get to those platforms.

You do not need a credit card from every store in the mall despite how easy it is to sign-up. And you most certainly do not need to buy a multi-colored assortment of socks and baseball caps from the Gap that you will never wear. You will pay a fortune in interest and you are not that kind of 80s gay.

It’s just a matter of perspective. It’s a reminder for me to get up and get moving with a walk. And it’s bonding time for us. I talk to my dog while we walk and let her take the lead on where we go. I continue to be amazed by what a dog’s nose can detect.

I love the shelf of empty Diet Coke cans at 1:10. That’s what I imagine is around every turn of the White House.

It’s $600 per year with a $1,000 deductible and then they reimburse 80%. This year I’ve been reimbursed for $16,000. Different companies and levels vary the premium and deductible so you can customize the plan to your needs. I have 24PetWatch. I upload the receipts and within two weeks I have a check.
