How could anyone see the Mclaren-Honda partnership ending? That’s some Miss Cleo level intuition there.

If you’re right about this information, it actually pans out with what has happened lately in F1 with Ferrari and Mercedes.

Continuing the pattern of slightly less Mercedes domination in Formula One this year, the front row of the Russian Grand Prix starting grid will be Ferrari red on Sunday. Sebastian Vettel is on pole, with teammate Kimi Raikkonen in second. Mercedes locked up the third and fourth spots, and the full lineup is here.

Funny thing is there’s rumors Sauber might switch to Honda engines next year. That’s the only way I see Honda sticking around. McLaren will drop them for sure. To be honest, at this point, I think Sauber is better off running year old, hand me down Ferrari engines instead.

In the defense I’m sure that valve filler guy gets a text when hes off that says “GET HERE WITH YOUR FILLER TANK” and hes off to work anyways.

F1 teams have a person just to top off magic valves and at work we don’t even have enough people on the team to take off two days in a row.

All the graphics they showed and commentary stated that Hamilton used the same tires for all three rounds of qualifying. If they were wrong, I never heard them correct themselves.

Even though Honda sucks, Alonso did a lot better than what was expect after the disastrous off-season testing. He was in the points the whole time!!! And like legit in the points!

This isn’t even a Ferrari track. Nor is the next.

I think James Allen, great British commentator, noted that there is at least one turn where Hammy had to lift and Vettel drove it flat out every time (I have too many live commentary pages running at once sometimes!)

In brief from last few days:

Mom is thrilled Mercedes didn’t win, too. She thinks Sebastian is cute, and she gets mad that Lewis always beats him.

They’ve also just lost Mobil sponsorship to Red Bull last year too? That’s a major long time fuel partner. Renault is naturally hitched up with Total iirc. Just checked to see Castrol (BP owned - learnt that today) is Mclaren fuel partner. BP are rather strapped for cash at the minute so I wonder how much they can

Let me begin by saying that I adore Honda and that I deeply appreciate their participation in Formula 1,

Honda still trying to fit V-Tech in the new power unit. Not happening apparently.

I think winning teams have influence. Simple as that. Mercedes has built an extraordinary structure that is so functional that you could probably toss out Toto Wolff and install freaking Eddie Jordan and it would still function brilliantly on track. It has gotten to a point where unless Merc hits a performance

Saw a discussion on Axis where people are saying the T wing and the complicated aero bits are all for show. Car is basically a giant troll and the car that shows up in Australia will be fairly different. MMMMM Rumors.

This era of new regs is unlike others, so this might be a rare time when regs shift but don’t really change the dynamic: Aero favoring the strongest power unit and now we have unlimited in-season development (favoring Merc), and specific internal engine components that somehow are now weight restricted, which just
