My dad leased two of these badboys; a 1994 Limited V8 and a 1997 Laredo 4.0, both in that green if I remember right. Amazing vehicles. I loved the tuffed leather and the Infinity sound in the 94 and my brother would let me drive around in the 97 before I had my license. Great times.

CP. Friend of mine picked up an 04 with 55k on it for $15,500 back in January. Original owner had like 6 different cars and was pairing down a few.

Driving downtown can be fun too. I just prefer the secondary roads that feed into the city.

“I was looking at a Toyota Corolla and also a Subaru Impreza. My two questions for you are this, do you have any insight on which would be a better buy? It would be used mostly driving around the city (Pittsburgh with its stupid hills and twisty, narrow roads) with very rare highway trips. I put an average of 3,000

I see it everyday my friend. It’s hilarious to watch middle age men buy these $50000 half-ton trucks to commute downtown. Beds are in pristine condition too.

Pretty much this. Most “traditional” customers want all the features and will go longer term/have a higher payment to get them without really considering what the long-term affects could be. Yes, you can be emotional about it since you are spending your hard earned money, but you also have to use common sense and

The only saving grace to these things are the SRT4s, and even those had glaring side affects of being based on that platform.

I can tell you’ve never been behind the wheel of a first-gen smart fortwo.

I’ve had mine for over 5 years now. Mine has been incredibly reliable after 73k miles.

Erin’s recommendation is pretty spot-on. You’re already a VW owner, so you are already use to that pain. They can be fairly reliable and the torque is always entertaining. Plus you’d probably be doubling your MPGs so the higher price of diesel would be negated if not save you a few bucks a month.

People who don’t understand how to use a “suicide lane” properly. It’s a great idea to help you safely merge onto a busy road, but, you know, let’s not use it at all and hope the people behind you have strong brakes.

100% this. I don’t understand why people don’t use the entire road as it’s designed. There’s two lanes for a reason. I face this every morning on the way to work and people get so pissy about it and try to block me. I’m using the road legally and how it was made to be used. <shoulder shrug> Thank god for turbo power.

Are we trying to fit a whole week’s worth of Crack Prices into one post now?

Someone needs to do it or they’ll be no second year vehicles. :D

This reminds me of the 1994 LHS my buddy just junked because the transmission grenaded. He loved that thing. Inherited it a few years ago from his grandma and put over 100k on it. Drove it all over the Midwest and up into New England. He was genuinely sad that he had to get rid of it.
That was until he picked up a

Similar thing happened to me about 10 years ago driving my buddy’s Mazdaspeed3. The little fawn (still had its damn spots) full speed ran out from the forest along the road and rolled down the entire driver side of the car. It packed so much force that we were pushed off the road going about 55.

First one seems like my style of hunting: Little effort.

I believe it. They will pop out of nowhere. Mating season is a game of driving roulette for two months.

Are jorts acceptable?
