Have you tried [Ctrl]-[Alt]-[Del]? From there you can start Task Manager or restart the computer via soft-boot instead of pulling the cord. I just did this a couple of weeks ago when I found a price-reduction code. I emailed them a nice email saying, "I *just* got the product yesterday and today this code came out 'xyz'.
