I'll vote for PlayerPro over PowerAmp just cause PowerAmp has those little tiny pop-up menus which are a poor idea in a music app.

If you want to use the Nook Tablet *just like* the Fire then I don't see that happening. However, if you want to use your Nook Tablet as a Kindle reader, root it and install the Kindle app available in the Market.

If you print with an inkjet printer, the children won't be able to use markers (the printer ink smears) but crayons and colored pencils will work fine.
