If you want to use the Nook Tablet *just like* the Fire then I don't see that happening. However, if you want to use your Nook Tablet as a Kindle reader, root it and install the Kindle app available in the Market.

If you print with an inkjet printer, the children won't be able to use markers (the printer ink smears) but crayons and colored pencils will work fine.

Using a native app to download and only supporting one mobile OS is a knock against Amazon but not a knock against iTunes? If you're going to list a native app as a con, leaving iTunes out of the discussion is an egregious mistake.

Very attractive, very functional. I think pictures are quicker to "read" at a glance as compared to 'show', 'tell', 'play', etc. but the screen isn't loaded with them so I'm sure the locations of the folders get saved into muscle memory more than actually reading the folder names.

According to the post, it syncs with Google Tasks but I haven't tried it myself. Personally, I'm using GTasks because it's pretty simple and has Google Tasks syncing. For more task recommendations, check out the high five lifehacker had last year: [lifehacker.com]
