I find the fact that they didn't shut her down to be a confirmation of how human the robots appear. Even though these guys work on rebuilding hosts all the time and must see the mechanics, Maeve waking herself up and being so perceptive and engaging I would imagine throws them for a loop. Even though deep down they

That's what I always saw as the mark of a good noir. A story that you have to think real hard about to recount later, or that you can't even quite explain later, but while it's happening it all makes sense and you feel like a smartypants detective figuring it out as it unfolds.

I'm still not over Titanic taking most of the big awards over this one. I knew there was no way it wasn't gonna happen, but it still kinda pisses me off. This was such an absolutely incredible ensemble piece.

And then their little giggle fit in the car.

That really stood out to me when Vh1 was airing all the episodes leading into the big 40th anniversary special. I'd see an opener or a monologue that I remembered and swear to my roommate this was gonna be a phenomenal episode and then it would often be a dud with a few great moments sprinkled in.

Is Regarding Henry the one with that whole terrible Ritz cracker plot twist?

This was one of the first really grownup films o remember my parents letting me watch (I was about 11 or 12 when it came out). 2 years ago Spike Lee came to Ebertfest for a screening of it, and that's pretty much what he said again about the white property vs. black death. It was so different to see the film as an

I liked the market a lot, but didn't get a chance to explore the restaurants around it. I actually stayed just up the street (and up a hill) from La Fabrique Ahroma, and it was very good, but my favorite bakery was hands down Les Co'pains d'abord, and not just for the punny name. The smell lf butter and pastries as

I don't remember much about it other than it took me forever to get into, even in my devour all the Stephen King phase. I'm not sure I ever even finished it.

On the flip side, check out the Bangor Maine Police Department on facebook. Their posts are hilarious and they restore a great deal of faith in public servants, Maine or anywhere.

I live here. Alright is probably the most apt word to describe the Sweetcorn Festival, actually.

Smash mouth hasn't fared too well in either town, actually. They were scheduled to play last fall and got rained out. They just can't handle this town.

Man, Schnucks sells that Provel shit up where I live, as if anyone outside of St. Louis actually considers it cheese.

On their answering machine.

Bonus for comments on their Code Switch articles:

Yeah, the only article I ever saw the nut job right wingers not shit all over was a story about why beans make you fart. Toots are the great uniter!

Ripley's definitely my favorite. I know they're mostly all pretty awful people, but dammit I just want to live in that movie with those clothes and those locations. One of my major travel dreams is to tour around the filming locations.

I watched this again recently, and I think there still might not be any scene in any movie that melts my heart and makes me happier than Spud opening up that locker at the end.

Dammit, I wish I was in on the plot before I shelled out to see her in Indy!
