My friend wants to know too

Inordinately tickled to see Minneapolis show up twice. It's so true though - raiding Lunds & Byerlys or Kowalski's and eating outside is one of the best things ever.

Kirkland brand beer is 48/$22 in Minnesota. It's a standard issue weak lager, but it doesn't have any noticable BAD flavors, it's just like…beer flavored LaCroix. Cheap beer perfection.

Honestly I think The Lion King holds up the best as far as Disney Renaissance movies go. I can't really be objective about Beauty and the Beast, for the reasons stated - I was 3 when it came out and it was, um, a big deal to the preschooler set.

Honestly, Trudeau vs Trump is one of the few bright spots in the news. It's just so satisfying to see him pull random power moves for no real reason except to make Trump look lame or impotent.

Whoa, super interesting!

The first two on this list were formative movies for me - I haven't seen either since high school, but both Eternal Sunshine and Lost in Translation were super important to teenage me around 2006.

I mean, I've done some very drunk karaoke to Creep though so… maybe?

I would also very much like to know

My ideal is avocados, lime juice, salt, cilantro, scallions, chilis… My brother makes one that is basically pico de Gallo folded into mashed avocado and that's good too though. Honestly as long as it's mostly avocado and there are chips on the side I'm good… I feel like the blue cheese one would be super surprising?

It's 11:40pm and now I'm trying to resist googling to see if any pho places in my are are still open.

Now I want to fall asleep gently cradled in pho

I am admittedly deeply biased (I lived in Thailand for a few years in high school and my parents still live there, I think this is their 12th year) but I'm chuckling at Thailand being like, "oh okay, cool, we already have delicious gaeng but we'll just nod, smile, and use your weird stuff to make ours even more

So true. I lived in Thailand for a few years in high school and it's really hard to find good Thai where I live, as there's just not a big Thai population in the area. We do have a big Hmong population though and I've found their places to be extremely good… You just have to know to order right. The best places are

Okay okay wait. Hang on. So that's a donut wrapped in noodles, right? I can't think of a more perfect food tbh.
You're right, I've never had this, but I'm actively trying to figure out how to rectify that ASAP.

I have no idea why, but one of the only foods I'm super picky or prescriptive about is chicken salad?? I like it with mayo, walnuts, grapes, and celery OR with chopped radish, endive, fennel fronds, green onions, fresh parsley, and part mayo, part sour cream or plain yogurt. Also, I use rotisserie chicken and I like

I was thinking of the Willow season too, but Angel/us makes sense as well.

There's an excellent local chai sold here in Minnesota called Grey Duck Chai. It's just the spiced sweetened tea part, sold in growlers, to mix with milk at home, and it's SO GOOD. Spicy, lightly sweet. definitely worth checking out if you come here.

When my grandma was hospitalized, my grandfather, a lawyer who speaks 4 languages and at 88 is successfully using Facebook, called my mom to ask her what it means when a recipe says to "beat" something. He also called my aunt to ask how to make scrambled eggs.
(My grandma is alive and well and still laughs about this.)

It's really not a huge knock on Dushku that she isn't Tatiana Maslany, because she's pretty singular, but… when I first saw Orphan Black, one of my first thoughts was "oh… so Dollhouse wasn't necessarily an inherently flawed concept, it just didn't have the right lead."
