That’s a shame, but I know not every shop has a perfect staff. The shop I work at has a predominantly female staff, the only guys we have on staff right now are the owner and Mr. Fishnets. Though, I know either of them would be able to help someone find female-centric/feminist comics.

Nahhhhhhhhh. I wouldn’t read it. It’s only okay at best (though Gaydos did an arc, and that’s pretty good). I’d read the stuff that she’s in in New Avengers instead.

Ha, totally fair. I’d much rather read her stuff in New Avengers than The Pulse (although the best part of the The Pulse was the Gaydos stuff).

To be fair, I also know a lot of women who love the series (including myself). I’m not saying it’s for everyone, everyone’s different and is going to react to it differently but I do have an idea when it’s not going to be people’s cup of tea. It’s something you learn to read when you’ve been slinging comics for nearly

Alias is my favorite thing Brian Michael Bendis has ever written. As a comic book employee, I am thrilled that it’s back in print (it was out of print 5+ years before Jessica Jones came out) and that I can once again sell it to people. I am super excited that Bendis is working on a new series and that Gaydos is coming

Excellent article, but I’ve got a slight nitpick. How could the Amalgam crossovers be referencing Final Crisis when it didn’t exist until 2008?

You reminded me of one of my favorite weird questions to ask people.

I laughed way too hard at this.

This. I also feel like this is why I lurk on Imgur, but never make an account cause I don’t want to get sucked into the black hole.

The Star Wars EU has always been full of amazing women, and I am so happy to finally see more on screen. It almost makes up for Aayla Secura, who is a fucking badass Jedi in the EU/so popular she got placed in the prequels (though without lines, of course), getting SHOT IN THE FUCKING BACK during Order 66. Fuck you,

Can we have this in the same version where Hulk plays Harry?

Especially since no one freaked out about Radcliffe’s eyes being blue instead of green, despite the fact that they are described as “green like your mother’s” constantly, which is actually a plot point.

My brain. It hurts from the stupid.

They ignored “continuity” for a lot of Hermione’s appearance when they cast Emma Watson. Watson’s hair isn’t particularly bushy nor are her front teeth noticeably pronounced the way Hermione’s are (for at least the first 4 books). Also, Daniel Radcliffe has blue eyes, when Harry’s are green, a fact that’s constantly

I think Junot Diaz says it best:

Oh don’t get me wrong, my nerd hole is awesome. It’s got Battlefront and everything.
